Seventy Seven

Riley's POV:

After 10 minutes, Josh comes through the door looking disappointed. He sits on the couch and puts his head in his hands. I say, "I thought you had work." He says, "Not till 1." I put my hand on his shoulder and say, "What's wrong?" He explains to me, "Well I surprised Maya outside to say goodbye, but before I said anything I saw her texting a guy named Ross. And he said how he wants to hold her in his arms again. Of course I got mad, I thought she was cheating on me. Well apparently I got too mad and I scared her so much she looked like she was gonna faint. I feel so bad." I say loudly, "What? Oh my God did you make sure she was okay before she left?" He nods and says, "Yes Riley she's fine now." I quickly pull out my phone and text her:

Riley: hey josh came by and told me what happened are you okay
Riley: hello?
Riley: please answer
Riley: Maya...
Maya: what! I'm sleeping
Riley: sorry sorry. I just wanted to make sure you were okay
Maya: yeah mom I'm fine😂
Riley: okay "babygirl" I miss you already love you
Maya: you're such a loser
Riley: but you love me
Maya: I do

I calm down and say, "Okay you're right she's fine. What could you have possibly done to have scared her that much?" He says, "I don't know. She said the way I looked at her or something." I assure him, "Well I don't know if she told you or not, but that was Ross Lynch she was talking to. There nothing more than close friends. No need to get jealous or defensive." He says shameful, "She told me. I feel like a jerk." I comfort him, "You're not. I would've done the same thing. She's just too sensitive deep down I guess." He nods and I say, "Well do you want some breakfast? I made some pancakes." He agrees and sits down at the table.

Maya's POV:

After I got off the plane I checked into my hotel. I threw my stuff down and immediately called Ross:

On the phone

Maya: ROSS IM HERE
Ross: WHERE ARE YOU WE HAVE TO MEET UP
Maya: AT MY HOTEL, THE HILTON ON 6th AVE
Ross: GOT IT. BE THERE IN 5

End of call

I'm so excited to see Ross. I can't wait to catch up and be with him. Just the two of us. Not to do anything. I just like that we can be alone... As friends.
I shuffle through my luggage and find my makeup and apply some mascara and a little eyeliner so I can look presentable for Ross. Suddenly, I hear a loud knock on the door. I get on my tippy toes and look through the peep hole. I see the bleach blonde hair I missed way too much. I open the door and grin with Ross and throw my arms tight around his neck. He lifts me up and spins me around into my room saying, "MAYA I MISSED YOU!" I say happily, "I MISSED YOU MORE!" He gently lets me down and looks at me. I smile and look away and say, "Stop staring at me." He says sweetly, "I really can't. You're just so beautiful and perfect. I'm trying to figure out why you're wearing makeup. You seriously don't need it." I say, "Please. I do need it but thank you." He says, "I'm being 100% dead serious. You don't need it. Don't use it. Be naturally beautiful." I say, "Well thank you." He says, "So how's Josh?" I sigh and explain what happened before I left. He gives me a guilty look and says, "I'm so sorry. He's right though. I shouldn't flirt with you." I say, "It's okay really. I explained it all." He grabs my hand and says, "So hey there's a party tonight. It's gonna be AMAZING. Taylor swift, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, and so many more celebrities are gonna be there. You're coming. It's everyone signed to HW records." Jeez. I don't feel worthy enough to be with these people. I say, "But I'm no where near their or your level." He says, "Are you crazy? Do you realize that you've been in the top 5 on the billboard charts for the past few months? So many people know and love you. They all really wanna meet you. Plus, it'll be a fun welcome back and some time for you and me to relax." I say excited and giving in, "Okay. I'm in." He says jittery, "YAY! Okay wear a dress but casual but not too laid back. Ya feel? Because it's not a red carpet, but it's still an almost formal party." I say, "Got it. What time?" He says proper on his knees, "Well. Would you do me the great honor of being my date, miss Maya Hart?" I laugh and hold his hand saying, "I would most certainly love to Mister Lynch." He says, "Then I will get you at 8:30! See you then beautiful, but I have to go to work now." And kisses my cheek and walks out.
I can explode I'm so excited to meet all these celebrities. Especially Justin. I've loved him since Baby. Of course I've never told anyone, but it has been my little secret. I gotta call Riley and tell her.
