Fifty Five

Maya's POV:

I can't help but smile when I hear people's happy voices, "MAYA I LOVE YOU!" "MAYAAAAA!" This is so crazy to me. This is only sound check and the VIP's that got to come in early are going nuts. The general admission are waiting outside the gate yelling for me too. I wish I could let them all in. To test the mics and the instruments we play the chorus of 'Middle of Starting

The crowd sang along and cheered. After that, I went back stage and Riley hugged me saying, "Wow you sound even better in a mic and a band!" I say, "Thanks Riles. It really means a lot." Lucas and Farkle high five me and say, "You killed it. Can't wait for the show!" Michelle comes up to me and says, "You sounded great. I say we get you out there in a few minutes. You'll preform 6 songs. Let the band know your order before you go on, okay?" I say, "Thank you and okay." I go up to my band and say, "So I'm thinking first we play 'White Flag' then 'Too Young' then 'Right Now' then 'Seamless' then 'Best Thing I Got' then finally, 'Eyes Wide Open' sound good?" They nod their heads and smile. I walk back to Riley and say, "Alright. Now this time I'll really see you after the show!" She gives me a comforting smile and says, "Don't be nervous. I can tell you are a little. You got this in the bag. You're born to sing!" How could she tell I was a little nervous? She knows me so well.
I hear outside on the stage, "WHOS READY TO MAKE SOME NOISE?" The crowd cheers loudly. The announcer says, "I SAID... WHOS READY TO MAKE SOME NOISE?" The crowd cheers even louder and start to chant, "Maya! Maya! Maya! Maya! Maya! Maya!"
Then the band starts to play the beginning of 'White Flag'. Michelle cues me to run out on stage so I do so. The crowd cheers loudly again as I start to sing my song.
They sang every word along with me. I couldn't believe that all these people supported me and knew all the words to my songs.
Once that song was over the lights turned off and one single white light shone on me sitting at a piano. I played and sang 'Too Young'. They loved it. Everyone had a phone flashlight on as they all waved in synchronization. Not a sound came out of them except for a few shouts or people singing along. It was such a beautiful experience.

After 'Right Now', 'Seamless', and 'Best Thing I Got', it was time for 'Eyes Wide Open'. This is my top favorite song off the album.
As the first note of the song was played the crowd knew the song right away and cheered loudly. I sang:

The crowd roared with claps and screams. They sang every word with me as loud as they could. People were recording, crying, singing, screaming, and just having a good time. This was the definitely best experience of my life. I say into the mic, "San Diego who had a good time today?" Everyone cheers loudly. I say, "Thank you all for coming out today it really means a lot to me. You all were awesome and definitely a crowd to remember. I love y'all!" Did I just say y'all? I guess Lucas is rubbing off on me. The crowd yells and screams as I walk off the stage. Riley is the first person to immediately run up to me and squeeze me as tight as she could. She says into my shoulder, "I'm so proud of you! You were amazing! Holy wow." I hug her back and say, "Thank you thank you Riley." Lucas hugs me and says, "Good job you were amazing! I couldn't help but notice... Was that a y'all I heard?" And laughs. I pull away and say, "Yeah I said the same thing after I said it. Don't think too much into it." Farkle hugs me and says, "You were perfect I'm so proud!" I thank him and we all walk back to the bus. The audience all rushes to the gate and screams my name. I wave to them and smile.
I throw myself down on the couch and say, "Well damn that was fun." I check my phone:
7:45pm
Riley, Lucas and Farkle sit down next to me. Riley asks, "Where to now?" I say, "Idaho tomorrow night." She claps excitedly. Lucas says, "How about we all watch a movie?" Farkle and Riley agree and I say, "Sure, but I'm gonna shower first." Riley gets up and says, "I'm gonna get some comfy clothes on so you guys pick the movie."
I take a nice and warm shower and change into my sweats and Josh's sweatshirt I kept in New York. Riley and I lay across the couch and face the T.V. Farkle decided on The Blind Side. Riley pouts and says, "Oh come on this movie always makes me cry." I turn over to face her and laugh.
Half way into the movie I remember my mom wants me to call her. I'm too comfy to get up and talk so I'll just text her:
Maya: hey mom the show went great. Right now we're all watching a movie so can I just call you either tonight or tomorrow
Mom: of course. What movie?
Maya: the blind side
Mom: Ooh shawn's favorite. Okay well I'll talk to you later xoxo love you babygirl
Maya: love you too mom

I text Josh to tell him too:
Maya: hiya
Josh: yay it's over how did it go
Maya: amazing. Best experience ever
Josh: I can be your experience ever ;)
Maya: Jesus Josh
Josh: I'm only kidding ya. Well what are you up to
Maya: watching a movie with Riley Farkle and Lucas.
Josh: sounds fun. I'm at work I wish I could watch with you😞
Maya: boo hoo I'll see you in a few months.
Josh: yeah but that's too long I wanna see you now
Maya: you're too greedy I'll see you soon enough
Josh: fine fine
Maya: okay uncle boing I'll call you later. Oh and Riley said hi
Josh: okay and hi Riley

I put my phone away and start to feel my eyes get heavier and heavier. Riley pulls the blanket over us and she says, "I'm tired." And yawns. I say, "Me too." And with that I fell asleep.
