Ninety Four

Maya's POV:

When we got to the police station they took and examined our evidence as we told them the story and about my dad. They said they were already on the case of finding him since he escaped the jail. They ran some DNA tests on it and confirmed it was him.
That's honesty relieving knowing we just have to watch out for him.
It's still nerve wracking knowing he could be anywhere...
Maybe I should always start to walk with Randy from now on.
Ya know. To protect me and whoever I'm with from crazy people.
As we drive back to my apartment I look at my still bleeding and bruised arm. I shrug it off and stare out the window collecting all my thoughts.
I say, "I'm sorry mom." She says, "For what?" I say, "This. Every time I was rude to you. All the stress I've caused you. Everything. I'm sorry." She puts her hand on my shoulder and says, "Awh babygirl. I understand you've been under a lot of stress lately. Don't be sorry. I love you always. Remember that okay?" I nod and say,'"Love you too." I can't help but smile. And it wasn't forced. I've never had a real nice moment with my mom like that in a really long time. I liked and missed it.
Finally we pull up to our apartment. I say, "Riley's probably freaking out right now and blowing up my phone." She laughs and says, "You know she's not gonna take this as calm as you are right?" I may seem calm, but on the inside I'm having a heart attack. I'm so scared. I feel like he's anywhere and everywhere. I say, "Yeah but I'll take care of her. Come on let's head out in like 15 minutes." She nods and fumbles with her keys and opens the door. I assure her, "Mom I'll be okay. Like you said were gonna take care of this and it's all gonna be okay." She hugs me and says, "You're so strong. Why won't you rub off on me?" I laugh and slowly walk back to my room. I grab a piece of cardboard and tape it over my broken window. I grab my clothes and get into the bathroom. I turn on the hot water and take my shower.
I finish relatively quickly knowing everyone's waiting. I do my make up, which consists of mascara and light eyeliner. I dry and let my hair naturally flow in curls and change into my outfit. I grab my phone and follow my mom down to the lobby.
Randy gives us a "ready?" look and I nod back. He smiles and walks to Riley's house. Of course I'm clobbered with fans and paparazzi. I say hi to them and ignore the paparazzi. After I'm done greeting, I rush up the steps. I buzz in and Riley immediately answers the door. She gives me a concerned look and yells at me, "WHERE WERE YOU?" I push her into the living room and say, "Shhh. You're gonna over react so it's nothing." My mom comes in and walks right over to all the ladies and tells them in a whisper. I'm assuming she did, actually I don't know. Riley says, "Why would I over- YOUR ARM! WHAT HAPPENED?!" I sigh and say sarcastically through my gritted teeth, "Why don't you tell the whole damn building." She says demanding, "Just UGH. BAYWINDOW. BAYWINDOW RIGHT NOW." Josh and Morgan say, "I'm coming with you." I groan and say, "Whatever." We sit at the baywindow and shut the door. I start to explain all that happened. Riley starts shaking and turns pale. I grab hold of her and say, "Listen it's fine. Like I said police are already on it. Even though I still feel I should just stay away from every one." I mumble the last part. Riley says shakily, "No. You're not.. Leaving- my sight. Everything will. Be fine. I'm sticking with you.. Through this." I say, "Okay okay calm down you look like you're gonna pass out." She looks at me and tears start pouring out of her eyes like a waterfall. She throws her arms around me and cries, "I want you to be safe. I don't want him to get you. I'm so scared how are you not scared?!"
I say hugging her back tightly, "Trust me I am scared too. This is a death threat. That's terrifying. I'm more so worried about your safety." Josh squeezes me from behind and says, "Don't worry baby. I got you. I'm gonna keep you safe. They're gonna find him in no time and everything will be okay again. No ones gonna get harmed by him. And if I see him he's the one getting killed.. By me." I say, "Thank you babe. I hope you're right." Morgan looks at me with a loss of words and says, "Just.. Wow. You're real strong kid. I used to be just like you. I can tell your story already. I like you. You're inspiring in a lot of ways." I say, "Thank you. That means a lot." Riley says sniffling, "Let's just try to forget about this. We're all safe right? So let's just have a great Christmas despite this." I wipe her tear stained cheeks and say, "Sounds good to me. Thanks for sticking with me through this too." They say, "Of course." And we walk out into the living room.
I look over at my mom, Topanga, and Riley's grandma and they're all in tears. I look away and greet Shawn and Riley's grandpa and even her uncle Eric is here too. Shawn scruffs up the top of my head and says, "Heyo." I smile and say, "Hiya."
Eric says, "Mouisa! I missed you! How's the fame life treating ya?" I laugh and say, "It's treating me good. How's the government life treating ya?" He says, "Great!"
Then we all gather in the living room and watch all the ABC Family Christmas movies.
Josh protectively had his arm around me the whole time and Riley laid her head on my stomach. Feeling the warmth of the fireplace and the smell of amazing food, made me feel finally at peace and relaxed.
When the movies were over, it was dinner time.
We sat at the dinner table and started eating. Riley says to me, "I can't wait to give you your present." I say, "Me either. I can't wait that goofy adorable grin of yours." She smiles really wide and says, "Awe peaches."
Eric says, "So Mortachai. Why don't you sing us a few songs!" Everyone cheers and I say, "Uh. I don't know I-" Riley says, "You've performed in front  of WAAAAY more than 10 people Maya. Come on please!!" I say smiling, "Fine fine fine."
After I sang and played Mariah's song All I Want For Christmas and Justin's Mistletoe, it was time to wrap up the night. By 10:30 Auggie went to bed, so we all rushed out and set the presents under the tree.
Then we realized we forgot to label Every. Single. Present. UGH.
By 2 am we figured everything out and "ate" and "drank" Santa's milk and cookies and went to bed.

Okay so Maya's dad is the threat.. Who saw that coming😂😂 5 chapters left😞BUT I decided I'm gonna have a sequel and leave this off with a cliff hanger...😏 do you have any ideas
