Sixty Nine

Maya's POV:

Topanga comes in right after us and says, "You all better be hungry. I'm making chicken tonight." I say to Riley, "This is gonna be my first night home in a year. Huh. Weird." She whines, "Why can't you just stay here tonight." I laugh, "Because I gotta get you at 7 o'clock. We gotta stick to tradition." Josh says, "It's funny to think how different everything was a year ago compared to now. A lot has changed." I say, "Hint hint. You. Hint hint." He says, "Oh come on. I was just stupid." Riley says, "And now you're not. CHANGE." I say, "Exaclty."
After dinner I say goodbye to everyone and head home with Lucas and Farkle. My house is first along the way. I say, "Well. See you guys tomorrow morning in Matthews class." They laugh and say, "See ya." I walk in the front door and greet my mom. I go in my room and sit on my bed. I check my phone:
8:45pm
3 new messages (Ross) (Riley).

Ross: I know you've only been gone 2 days but I miss you so much already. Keep in touch :(
Riley: ew this is so weird. Nope can't do it
Riley: come back

I laugh at Riley's messages and text them back:

Maya: I miss you too rossy poo. I'll text you after class tomorrow. Goodnight
Ross: ack. Okay fine goodnight princess💕

Maya: agreed. We gotta just get used to this
Riley: I'm bored.
Maya: go to bed then
Riley: too earlyyyy
Maya: is Josh still there
Riley: yeah
Maya: then talk to him
Riley: nvm he just left
Maya: damn.
Riley: I'm just gonna go to bed. I won't fall asleep till 10 but oh well. Goodnight Maya
Maya: you'll be out in 10 minutes. And if I'm wrong text me. But I highly doubt it. Goodnight Riley

I put my phone down to charge and I lay down on my bed. I really don't wanna go to school. It felt like I was having an endless summer. Now it's back to reality.

In the morning

My alarm wakes me up at 6am
I sigh and get up and get dressed. I walk into the bathroom and brush my teeth. I spray my light perfume on and put in my leave-in conditioner. I walk into the kitchen and grab my backpack. My mom says, "Goodmorning honey. Want to eat something?" I say, "Nah." I say goodbye to my mom and walk to Riley's. The sun is just starting to rise and the cool breeze in the air is satisfying.
I walk into the apartment and say, "Sup goofballs!" I walk to Riley and Cory says, "Someone is in a good mood!" I say, "That's on the outside. Inside I'm dreading your class." Riley says, "Why? It's a joke. All you do is sleep or just not pay attention." We all laugh and I say, "Yeah she's got a point." Topanga says, "Maya have some eggs." I say, "No thanks I'm not really hungry." She says with an attitude, "I'm sorry did I ask?" Riley and I say, "Yeesh." I sit down next to Riley at the table and eat our eggs. After, we head to school. As we walk up to it I turn to Riley and breath out deeply. She smiles and we walk in happily. Everyone immediately swarms us saying, "WE MISSED YOU!" "YAY YOURE BACK!" "GUYS ITS RILEY AND MAYA!" "THEYRE BACK!" I say, "Jesus I didn't know we were famous." Riley jokes, "Well you actually are."
I hear a far too familiar voice yell out, "Okay everyone away! Disperse! Everyone to class! Let's see who's in the middle of this." After everyone walks away from us I'm greeted with principal Yancy. He's always hated my guts. He says, "Ah. If it isn't miss Maya Hart. This isn't a shock that you are the cause of this. Surprised you've returned." I say, "Indeed I did." He smirks and pats my back and walks away leaving me speechless staring into the distance. Riley closes my mouth for me and says, "Wow that was weird. He always hated you. I guess everything really is changed." I say, "Woah.." I snap out of it and head to class with Riley. Of course we're the last ones in like always. Everyone in the class smiles  at us. We smile back and take our usual seats in the front. Mr Matthews comes in and says, "Happy Monday class! Hope you all had a nice weekend. And welcome back to some students that have returned after a long long summer. We missed you." I stretch out and say breathing out, "Ah. Yeap we missed you more." Riley laughs and shakes her head. As Cory starts to teach the lesson, I zone out, like always. He snaps me out saying, "Maya!" I yell back quickly, "1831!" Which makes the class laugh. He says, "Somethings just never do change."

Yay school chapter. So I came up with if school is in Maya's POV it will go by quicker since she doesn't really pay attention, and if it's in Riley's POV it'll explain the lesson and will probably take a whole chapter. So let me know if you like that idea. Bye :)
