Chapter 19 - Rape

*Jessie's pov*

I thought Holly was going to bring up what actually happened between me and Kira, the reason why we split up and the reason why I'm here, on this planet. I could feel myself tearing up, just from thinking about it, as I was driving the three of us home. Emma and Holly were chatting away on the back seat, all I had was the pizza for company. I'm glad though because otherwise the girls would ask me why I was upset and I'd have to explain everything to Emma. Obviously Holly already knows, she knows everything about me. But I did promise to tell Emma one day. Urgh... My life is fucked up. Yes I'm living my dream, but it was a dream that was made up accidentally on purpose. I looked in the rear-view mirror and my misty eyes caught Emma's who looked concerned. Tonight could be interesting.

We got home and tucked into the pizza. It was delicious! We chatted and laughed all night and Emma didn't bring anything up about the car. It's almost like she's forgotten about it, I hope she has because I really don't want to talk about it. We all made our way back into the ground floor living room. Did I mention there were two living rooms?

"Guys, I thought we are having a party?" Holly asked

"We are?" Emma asked back confused

"Yeah, well you've come out... Even if it was two weeks ago and Jess has moved down here, it deserves a celebration." Holly ended

"Right okay...What are you getting at?" Emma asked after a period of silence

"Jess, you should know this." Holly stared at me and I was sooo confused

"What happened to 'A party isn't a party without Sprite'?" Holly quoted

"Oh yeah... I forgot.... I'll go and get some." Earlier I went to the Spar in the village and bought a few thing, including 50 cans of Sprite. What can I say? I do love my Sprite

I walked away to the kitchen and got three cans out of the fridge. I was walking back to the living room when I heard Emma and Holly talking...

"...ever happened to Jess?" I heard Emma asking Holly

"Like what?" Holly asked and I walked away not wanting to hear what was going to be said between them. I put the Sprites back in the fridge to keep them cool and gripped onto the edge of the counter to try and stop the tears from falling.

*Emma's pov*

Jess got up to get us some Sprite and left me and Holly alone, I made this my chance to ask Holly if something had happened to Jess. Earlier when we were talking to Rach and Lucy... That was just strange and when we were in the car too...

"Ummmm Holly, has anything bad ever happened to Jess?" I asked very cautiously, Holy is Jess' best friend, she would know but not tell.

"Like what?" She asked back looking at the floor

"Well before you got here, Me, Jess, Rachel my cousin and Lucy a friend, were talking and Jess excused herself. I went up to find her a few minutes later and she was crying." I told her

"What were you talking about?" She asked

"Ummm... Rape." I announced and Holly's head shot straight up to look at me, she was tearing up, "No way...." Was all I could say

"There's more to it than that too-"

"Don't tell me." I cut her off. "It's Jess' life, she can tell me when she wants... If she wants to." We fell into silence.

"I'm glad she found you." Holly said breaking the silence

"Sorry, I don't understand." I replied honestly

"I haven't seen Jess so happy since Kira. That's why I've been so accepting of her moving down here. She threatened to move away after Kira. She wanted to get out of London and start a new life where no one knew who she was. I did all I could to stop her. That's why she wrote Who You Are. She lost herself in two places, the blur of the stars and in love. She eventually got over the fact that what's been done has been done, but she's never really got over Kira even though she tells everyone she has, but she hasn't. Well, until today." Holly informed me

"So you're saying that I've made her get over Kira?" I asked

"Yeah you have." I smiled, I couldn't help it "Emma, have you got a crush on Jess?" Holly asked after noticing the smile, I felt myself blush so much, there was no point in denying it

"Jess has been a while, shouldn't we go and she if she's okay?" I got up but Holly pulled me back down

"Oh my god, you do. Emma loves Jessica." She teased

"Hol, shut up! She's ten and a half years older than me, she'll never like me like that so I'll just get on with my life without thinking about it." I said sternly

"Oh I wouldn't be too sure about that." Holly said and got up whilst I just stared at her, "You're right though, Jess has been ages."

We walked out of the living room and into the hall way to the sound of crying coming from the kitchen. Holly and I looked at each other and ran to the kitchen faster than Usain Bolt.

Jess was sat on the floor balling her eyes out. Bless her. This might be my fault, she might have over heard me and Holly talking. We walked over to her and sat either side of her.

"Jess babe, what's wrong?" Holly asked, her voice was so soft, it calmed me down a bit, Jess shook her head

"Jess, me and Holly are here for you. You can tell us anything, sometimes it helps to get it off your chest." I said, Jess still shook her head and cried even more

"Well you can tell us when you're ready." Holly told her, all Jess did then was lean into me. I looked at Holly, I was so nervous, especially after what Holly told me earlier, she just nodded towards me and smiled. I lifted my arm up so it would be comfier for the both of us. She nestled into the crook of my neck and I put my arm around her. I also lent my head on hers. Her hair, even though it's spiky, it's somewhat soft too.

We sat like that for at least twenty minutes until Jess stopped crying and her breathing returned to normal. My phone had been vibrating all the way through it. Emma had been texting me and ringing me. So I rang her whilst Holly was getting some Sprite out of the fridge. She got one for me too.

"Emma, Oh my god you're okay!" Emma answered the phone shouting so I had to hold it away from my ear

"Errrm yeah... Why wouldn't I be?" I asked a bit confused

"Well I've been watching the news and apparently your dad raped your mum and several other women first... Is it true?" Jess started crying again at the word rape. Holly glared at me. I started rubbing Jess' arm to comfort her

"Ummm, to be honest Em, I wouldn't be surprised. You wouldn't mind if I went, now's not the best time. I'll text you later." I didn't even wait for her reply and hung up. "Jess, I'm so sorry I did'n-

"It's fine." She cut me off between sobs

"It's obviously not." I stated but Holly stayed quiet and Jess burried herself into me more.
