Chapter 27 - Phone Calls

*Jessie's pov*

Emma walked off onto school with her friends but she did look a bit distant. I hope today goes well for her, I still don't want the police to talk to her alone. I sighed as I thought if this.

"What's up babe?" Holly asked

"Emma's got to speak to the police in school again. I don't want her to speak to them alone. It's easy to say the wrong thing and end up as a suspect." I explained

"But Emma's the victim with the school case isn't she? They can't turn her into a suspect and the second time it happened there were loads of witnesses." Holly informed me

"That's true. Okay, I'm going to ring my parents." I got my phone out and dialled the number. It's quicker than looking through my contacts list.

"Hello?" My dad asked, I smiled

"Hi dad!" I answered

"Jess! Where are you? Your not home and there's no note. Holly came to get Jackson and we haven't seen her since." My dad exclaimed

"Well Holly is here with me..."

"Hi Steve!" Holly called

"And here is South Wales." I paused waiting for him to say something.

"Why have you taken Jackson?" My dad asked trying to put one and one together but making three.

"Dad, I've bought a house. I'm living in South Wales." I explained and waited for my dad to answer.

"Did the label make you move?"

"No. I would never do that. I'd never move anywhere just for the label. You know that."

"So what's in South Wales for you then?"

"Someone who needs my help. Someone that helped me a few years ago... Can I talk to mum please?" I asked. I would rather talk to my mum about Emma than my dad.

"Of course sweetie." He called my mum and what felt like five minutes later she picked up.

"Jess, dad says you've moved down to South Wales?" It was a question, I felt so bad. She obviously thought it was a joke.

"Yeah I have." Was all I could say before I felt a tear fall down my face.

"Are you being serious or is this all a big prank to wind me up?"

"No mum. It's real, I've moved down to Caerleon, it's a large village in Newport, not to far away from Cardiff, so I can be close to a friend that needs my help. She helped me three and a half years ago, so it's only fair if I help her now. I've found her mum. I found her but she's in a bad place and I'm one out of a handful of people that she trusts." I explained

"You mean the 11 year old? I need to meet her Jess. I need to say thank you. I understand why you've moved, but don't forget to come and visit whenever you can." She told me

"Of course I will. Actually, is it okay if we come on Monday? We're going to Yorkshire tomorrow and London Sunday and then maybe we could spend a few days with you?" I asked

"Of course you can darling! I'll get Hannah, Rachel and the kids down too. I love you Jess, don't forget that." I smiled

"I love you too mum. I've got to go now but I'll speak to you tomorrow. Bye."

"Bye Jess." She hung up and I sighed, I'm gonna miss my parents much more than I thought I would.

"It'll be fine babe." Holly reassured me and smiled

"I need to ring people to see who's free on Sunday. I can do that whilst walking home though so come on." I smiled and dialled Ellie's number

"Hey babe! How are you? I haven't seen or heard from you for ages!" Ellie greeted me
