CHAPTER 37: Drunk

Josh stumbled into the room and shut the door behind him.
I sat up and stared at him confused.
He leaned against the wall looking like he was gonna pass out.
"Josh?"
"What?"
"Are you okay?"
"Mhmm."
He 'walked' his way over to me, and what I mean by that is he tried to walk over to me but ended up tripping over his own feet countless of times.
"Josh!" I screamed as he fell onto the bed.
"Whats wrong?! Whats- why-..."
I stopped talking and plugged my nose.
"You smell bad."
"Sorry... I uh.. I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologising?"
"Shhh. It's a secret."
"A secret?"
"Mhmm."
"Josh why are you acting so weird?,
"I went to the bar. Shh though you gotta kept quiet about it."
"Why?"
"Cause Tyler will be disappointed in me if he finds out I'm drunk."
"Josh..."
"What?"
"I am Tyler..."
"Shhhhhhhhh. He can't know."
Josh was basically falling asleep at this point.
"Josh come up here and lay down you need to sleep."
"No. You can't tell me what to do."
"Josh. Sleep. Now."
"Okay fine."
He dragged himself up by me and laid down.
I leaned down and kissed him.
He instantly pulled away.
"You can't do that I have a boyfriend. He'll be mad if you do that."
"Josh I am your boyfriend."
"I love my boyfriend. He's so beautiful. I love him so much. He's mad at me though. I don't blame him. I'm a bad boyfriend."
He started crying.
"Josh no. No your a great boyfriend."
"I love him. I love him so much. I wish he knew. I'd do anything for him. He means the world to me. He is my world. I don't want to live in a world without him. I'll wait for him. No matter how long it takes."
I caressed the side of his face.
"Get some sleep Josh. I love you."
"I love you too."

I woke Josh up the next day by turning on the light.
He groaned and rolled over.
"Josh wake up."
"Tyler?"
"Yeah it's me."
"Why am I here?"
"You came last night... You said you were drunk.."
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay."
"What happened then?"
"Well you came here... You kept telling me not to tell Tyler that you were drunk.. Umm you told me not you kiss you cause you have a boyfriend and your boyfriend will get mad if I did... Then you said some other things and went to sleep."
"What did I say?"
"You explained how much you love me."
I smiled.
"Oh.. Can you do me a favour and shut the light off please?"
"Why?"
"I got a headache."
"Oh sorry."
I quickly shut the light off.

"Want to do me another favour?"
"Sure what is it?"
"Buzz the thing and ask them for pain killers."
"Okay."
So I pressed the buzzer, told Kenny to get pain killers and when he got back Josh took them.

It was quiet for a while after that.
There was one question lingering on my mind though.
"Josh?"
"Hmm?"
"Did you um.. Did you go get drunk because of me?"
"No no no no Tyler. No."
"Then why?"
"I.. I don't know I just did."
"That's not a good answer Josh."
"I know... It wasn't because of you though. I promise."
"Okay."
It was quiet again for another while.
"Josh?"
"Hmm?"
"I'm sorry."
"For?"
"For Yesterday.. For yelling..  For telling you to leave... For setting myself back. I was so close Josh then I ruined it."
"Its okay you'll get another chance."
"How? Their not going to let me leave for another while now and that's only if I don't mess up again."
"I'm going to talk to them."
"You are?"
"Yep.. Just because you got angry doesn't mean your unstable... Everyone gets angry. You didn't even have an episode you were just angry and you had a good reason to be. They can't say your unstable because of that."
"T-they can't?"
"No. Not in my opinion anyway."
"Oh..."
"So you stay here by yourself or If you want you can come."
".. I want to come."
"Okay come on."
I stood up and followed Josh out the door.
I grabbed his hand as soon as we were out into the hallway.
He smiled.
I leaned against him as we walked.

When we arrived at Dr. James office, Dr. James seemed surprised to see us.
"Hello Tyler, Josh... What can I do for you?"
"I want to talk about what happened yesterday."
"What about it?"
"I don't think you should keep him longer just because of that."
"Okay I see were your getting at... Tyler why Don't you go wait in the hall?"
I looked up at Josh then back at Dr. James.
"...okay.."
I gave Josh a quick kiss then left the room.

JOSH'S VIEW ~

"Okay tell me why you think we shouldn't. He's unstable he can't be out roaming the streets."
"First off he is stable. He was just angry. He wasn't having an episode. He wasn't hurting anyone. He was just angry. Everyone gets angry. So that's no reason to set him back."
"Why was he angry?"
"Because I'm a shitty boyfriend but this isn't about me okay? This is about Tyler."
"Okay well.. Uh..."
"Tyler deserves to be allowed to leave. He hates it here. Absolutely hates it. He's been trying so hard to be able to leave you can't take it away from him for getting angry. You just can't."
"I understand your point... I'll give him another week. How's that?"
"... It's better then nothing I guess."
"Okay. Go tell Tyler."
"Thank you."
"Your welcome."

I walked out into the hall to see Tyler sitting on the floor with his knees pulled up to his chest.
"Tyler?"
He snapped his head up to look at me.
He was crying.
"Why are you crying?"
I kneeled down in front of him.
"I don't know."
"You don't know?"
"I do know."
"...you just said you Don't..."
"I do though."
"Okay well?"
"I miss my mom.. And my dad.. And my brothers and sister. I haven't seen them in a long time. Your the only one who's been coming to visit me.... Do they hate me?"
"No they don't hate you. They just... Their busy I guess."
"Can we go back to the room now?"
"Yes.. But don't you want to know what happened in there?"
"No."
"No?"
"I'm afraid if I know I won't take it well or something will happen."
"Okay. Come on. Lets go back to the room."
He reached his arms up
I helped him up then let him get on my back and carried him back to the room.
