Desperation.

Chapter 37

"Rose?" I whisper.

"Diana" she sighs "oh Diana..."

"Rose!" I shout. I hate it when someone I like cries and doesn't tell me why.

"Rose! Should I come to you?"

"Yes" she sobs. Damn! Hearing her crying breaks my heart...

I hang up and tell my mother "I'll be back later. Rose has a problem."

Then I take Nelly and the dog leash and we make our way to Rose's flat.

When we arrive and Rose opens the door her eyes are red and full of tears.

I take her hand and we sit down on her couch.

"So what happened?" I ask her.

It makes me sad to see her like that.

"It's terrible..." she begins but she can't go on speaking because she burst into tears.

Oh no... I want to comfort her but I don't know what happened so what am I supposed to say?

Suddenly I have a horrible idea... maybe Zayn broke up with her? Or he cheated on her? Oh no! That would be so sad... they are - they were- such a cute couple...

"Leanne..." she sods "Leanne is..."

Leanne? I thought she was going to talk about Zayn...

"Her mother called me in the morning and Leanne has not been coming home since yesterday. Nobody knows where she is. The police is searching for her right now. I don't know what to do, Diana!" she starts crying again.

No.... Please tell me that Rose lied! Oh no! Not Leanne! Why didn't she tell us that she planned to go away...

Or maybe...

Maybe she didn't plan it! Maybe someone kidnapped her!

Now I'm crying, too.

What can we do?

"What happened to her?" Rose asks quietly.

"I don't know" I sob "I hope she's okay"

"Yea..." she nods. "Let's change the subject. What about Louis and you?"

"It's difficult" I admit "I don't know about us. Louis said that he isn't my boyfriend. I am not his girlfriend. I don't really know who I am and I don't know who he is, either. The only thing I know is that I love him an he's the love of my life. He means everything to me but I can't say that he feels the same. I hope so but I am not sure. Louis does what he wants to do, he says what he thinks and he keeps a secret he should tell. He can be nice and cute and irresistible but in the next moment he's naughty and obnoxious. That's my problem. He is unpredictable and I never know what he's going to do next. You know about the fight after the party, don't you? And after that we didn't talk to each other but when I was at the hospital he visited me and told me to sleep at his house tonight and he held my hand and he was just... so fucking cute! I can't live without him and I wanna know why he changed his mind..."

"Oh yeah, sounds really difficult" Rose agrees compassionately.

"Yea... but it is what it is..." I sigh but I have to smile when I see Nelly walking through the living room with a piece of pizza in her mouth.

"Oh no!" Rose screams "my pizza!"

I am glad that we don't talk any longer about Louis or Leanne and I help Rose to set the table.

"How much do you want?" Rose asks and shows me the plate with the pizza. There is one and a half pizza left because Nelly ate the other half.

I take five pieces of the pizza and Rose takes six.

"When do you plan to go to Louis?"

"I think... maybe at 6 o'clock?"

"Okay. I'm gonna come with you so I can tell Zayn the thing with Leanne..." she sighs and I can feel the tears streaming down my face quietly. It's so terrible... and I don't know what happened to her...
