Chapter 54

A few days later everything for the exchange is planned.

Two weeks left and we'll be in Ireland!

Our exchange students are going to visit us two weeks after our visit.

And when they leave we are going to take our A-levels.

If I want to take my A-levels I have to listen to the teachers and I must practise more than I did in the last months...

But the problem is that I can't concentrate on maths and English and geography and god knows what else because I always think about Leanne...

I had never thought that the pain would last such a long time but maybe it's because the police hasn't caught the murderer, yet...

"Diana?" my mother asks when she comes into my room "Can you help Julia with her homework?"

I roll my eyes and nod. "Of course I can" I sigh and go to Julia's room.

"What's your problem?" I question and Julia turns around to look at me.

"What's your boyfriend's name?"

"Why do you want to know that? It's none of your business! And furthermore I don't have a boyfriend!"

"Don't lie, Diana. His name is Lewis, isn't it?"

"His name is Louis and he isn't my boyfriend!"

"He lives next to our school, doesn't he?"

"What the hell, Julia?! Are you stalking me?"

"No, but sometimes you go to his house after school. And he always skips classes. I've never seen him at school."

"That's because he doesn't go to school! He's 22 and studies!"

"And how did you two get to know each other?"

"Well, Julia, I thought you had a  problem with your homework but if Mum just called me to answer your stupid questions I'll go back to my room now."

"No, wait!"

I sigh.

"I don't understand this task. What do I have to do?" she asks and I look at her book.

The task isn't really difficult and after I explained it to her I think about calling Louis.

"Tomlinson" my heart beats faster when I hear his voice and I smile.

"Hey Louis."

"Diana! How are you?"

"Um... If I said I was fine, I would lie. But I feel better than a few weeks ago."

"Do you wanna come over?"

"I'll be there in 20 minutes." I answer and hang up.

It's 7 o'clock and tomorrow is Sunday so I don't need to take my school bag with me.

I take a T-Shirt and a pair of jeans for tomorrow and look for my mother.

"Muuuum?" I shout.

She's in the kitchen.

"What's up?"

"See you tomorrow" I smile and make my way to Louis.

I arrive 10 minutes later and Louis opens the door.

"Hey love" he smiles and I kiss him "Do you want to watch a film?"

I nod and we go to the living room.

"Which film can we watch?" I ask and he opens the cupboard.

"We can watch the hunger games, hachiko, paranormal activity, saw..."

"Paranormal activity!" I say determinedly and Louis grins.

"Okay!"

He turns the dvd player and the tv on and tells me to sit down.

A few minutes later he comes back with a bottle of coke and a bowl of cookies.

"Aww Louis!" I say and he sits down next to me. "So you won't get hungry or thursty tonight" he whispers and puts his arm around me.

The film starts and I lean my head on Louis' shoulder.

This is the first film of paranormal activity and I love it!

It's a bit scary but Louis holds me tight and I always scream when something frightening happens.

"Diana?" he asks while Katie and Micah are finding Katie's old burned photo. "Do you believe in demons?"

I'm surprised because I hadn't expected Louis to ask such a quesion...

"Um... No, I don't" I say honestly "Why do you want to know that?"

"Because Micah doesn't believe in them, either. And then he is killed by a demon who lives in his girlfriend's body."

I shudder and look at Louis. What does he want to tell me? I think about Leanne immediately. She wasn't killed by a demon, she was killed by a human. But what if the human wasn't himself at this moment? Maybe it was his demon who killed Leanne...

Stop! That's rubbish! Demons don't exist in our world and it's just a film!

"Do you believe in demons?" I ask and Louis looks at me for a very long time.

"No" he says finally "I don't believe in demons."

We go on watching the film until I fall asleep.

I wake up when someone moves. It takes a few seconds until I realise it is Louis. He stands up and looks if I am still asleep. I close my eyes and act like I'm sleeping. Louis goes to the hall and I wonder why he puts his shoes on. He's very quiet and opens the door.

I try to fall asleep again but I worry about Louis. What does he do outside? Maybe he wants to meet Jason? Or someone else?

I take a sip of the coke and go upstairs to lay down in Louis' bed.

I hope he'll find me and he won't think I went home. But I am pretty sure he'll come back drunk so he doesn't think about me.

"Diana?" I hear a voice and it's not Louis'...

I turn around and I am glad to see Zayn. "Where's Louis?" he asks sleepily and I admit that I don't know that, either.

"Okay..." Zayn says "I'm sure he'll come back in a few hours. Good night."

He goes back to his room and I fall asleep again.
