The rest of our exchange is just like its beginning.
James is boring and impolite.
He does not talk and never smiles.
Alana and Rose are very good friends.
They get on really well.
Rose calls me every evening.
We talk about a lot of things.
Marilyn is very nice.
She talks very much.
I sometimes call my family.
They miss me.
The school gets boring.
We do not learn very much.
The whole exchange is unnecessary.
But I am lucky- today is our last day in Ireland.
It is Sunday and my suitcase and my bag are already prepared for the flight.
Marilyn borrows her neighbour's car and drives us to the airpod and she seems to be very sad.
"Good bye, honey" she sobs "we will miss you very much!"
"Thank you for everything, Marilyn! I really enjoyed my stay in Ireland" I lie and try to sound sad.
James looks at the floor and hugs me without saying anything, as always.
Well, at least he hugs me.
"See you next year, Diana" he mumbles and I freeze.
Next year?!
Oh my god...
I totally forgot that this was an exchange and that the Irish students are going to visit us next year...
I hope that James will forget about the night at Alana's house until he comes to Doncaster.
Mrs. Smith counts all of us and now we can get on the plane.
Most of the students in our class are really sad and some of them cry.
Rose also cries and so does Alana.
I feel very sorry for them.
"Don't cry, Rose. You'll see Alana again next year. She'll visit us and she's gonna stay at your house for 2 whole weeks!"
Rose sobs and nods and sits down next to me.
The flight is neither too short, nor too long and I fall asleep quickly.
Rose wakes me up when we arrive in England and I am glad to see my parents, my sister, my brother and Nelly again.
"Hello Diana!" Sam shouts and runs towards me.
"Sam!" I hug him and almost cry.
I am so endlessly happy to see them again.
"How was your flight?" Julia asks when she hugs me and I tell her it was okay.
"Did you enjoy your time in Ireland?"
My parents also hug me and I lie "Yes, it was great! I love Ireland and the school. My host family was also very nice and everyone had an Irish accent!"
They do not realise that it was a lie and they seem to be happy to see me again.
