Harry-It was late and you were lying in bed, waiting for Harry to get home from the store. You had been needing some cold medicine, and he didn't even asked if you needed it, he just said he would be right back and left. Suddenly, your ears picked up on a strange noise coming from the kitchen.
Thinking it was Harry, you groggily got out of bed and headed down. It was when you heard two voices whispering that you stopped in your tracks.
"Go search the rest of the house, these people look wealthy," one voice whispered.
Your eyes widened as you ran back into your bedroom, quietly shutting the door, grabbing your phone and locking yourself in the bathroom. You immediately dialed the emergency number and prayed that someone would be here soon.
"Hello, emergency services," the operator answered.
"I need police, there's someone in my house!" you whispered frantically.
"Okay, ma'am what's the address?" You told her the address and began to shake. "Okay, ma'am where are you in the house?"
"I'm in the bathroom in the master bedroom." The voices were getting closer and you were panicking. "They're in my bedroom," you whimpered.
"Okay, police are on their way, stay on the line with me."
You couldn't talk anymore and after a couple of questions, the operator understood and did her best to console you.
"Okay, ma'am, the police are right outside. They know where you are so just stay put until they call you out okay?"
"Okay, you whispered, relieved but not completely off the hook. You were finally able to relax when you heard the officer shout for the intruders to get down.
You assumed they were out of the house when a knock on the bathroom door made you jump up and open it. There, stood an older police man.
"You're safe now. C'mon love, your boyfriend is quite worried.
He led you out of the room and down into the kitchen where a frantic looking Harry stood. When he saw your shaky figure, he bee lined towards you and crushed you into his chest.
"Are you okay? They didn't hurt you did they? I'm so sorry I left! Baby, please don't be mad." A couple tears spilled out the corners of your eyes. "I'm sorry, c'mere."
You buried your face into his t-shirt. The officers took a bit of photo evidence before leaving the two of you alone.
"You're so brave you know that?" he said, cupping your face in his hands. You sniffled, the reality of your cold setting back in. "I'm just glad they didn't hurt you babe." He smiled sadly looking at the fear behind your eyes. "I'm here love, you're okay." He scooped you up and carried you back to the bed.
He put your small body back into the warm bed and wrapped the blanket around your body. You were still shaking, partially from adrenaline and partially from fear. Harry didn't even bother changing, he just kicked off his sneakers and placed his body next to you. Gently, he pulled you closer to him and pushed your face into the crook of his neck.
"You're safe... no one can harm you." You could feel the vibrations from his voice. It was oddly soothing to you.
"Harry?" you asked in a small voice.
"Yes my love?" he replied, running his long fingers through your hair.
"Could you keep talking? Or sing maybe?" you asked shyly.
"Of course I can love," he answered without any hesitation. "So there was this lady at the drug store..." He continued telling the story, but you found yourself drifting off quickly. "Goodnight (Y/N), try and sleep. I'm not going anywhere." That little bit of reassurance was enough to let you sleep, safely in the arms of your protector.Liam-You had left the house earlier to go for your morning jog. Liam had left even earlier to go to the studio so you expected to come home to an empty house. But that's not what you got. You walked up the front steps, wiping the sweat of your forehead, not realizing the front door was open slightly until you got closer. You were sure you had closed and locked it when you left. Maybe Liam was home early.
"Liam?" you called, pushing the door open and closing it. But it wasn't Liam standing in your kitchen rummaging through the drawers.
The man looked like a drug addict. His eyes were bloodshot with large bags and his arms were covered in bruises. His eyes were wide because he had been caught in the act. But you were just as scared as he was. Of course you were scared, there was a strange man in your house.
"W-Who are you?" you asked, not wanting to threaten him in fear of what he could do. He was silent. "Why are you in my house?"
He reached over to where the kitchen knives were and pulled one out, making you jump. "Hey now, I'm not going to hurt you," you said, trying to make him put it down. "W-What do you want? Money? I have money. Just please, p-put the knife down."
"I want all your money lady." His voice was raspy, like a smoker's voice.
"Y-You can have it all... Just please... Put it down," you repeated.
Hesitantly he set it down as you began walking backwards towards the drawer where Liam kept some cash, plus the money that was in your purse. It definitely wasn't all your money, but you didn't want this man longer in your house longer than he needed to be.
"H-here, this is all I have," you continued, setting it on the counter in front of him. He eyed it hungrily, snatching it up and running out of your house.
You let out a sigh of relief and relaxed against the counter. Your heart was beating, but you were pretty proud of yourself for handling that situation pretty well.
You made sure all the doors were locked, as the paranoia was still there. But none the less, you locked them and went upstairs to take a shower, locking the bathroom door as well. Once your hot shower was finished and the initial shock was over, you changed into a pair of sweats and a baggy t-shirt. You would tell Liam about what happened when he got home. You didn't want him to worry.
A few hours of movies and slight paranoia later, your boyfriend walked through the door, setting his keys down in the bowl next to the door.
"Hey love," he greeted, falling next to you and giving you a hello kiss. "How come the door was locked? You never lock it babe," he questioned. He was right, you never really locked the door when he left.
"I... Something happened that made me feel the need to lock it," you answered. It wasn't a lie, it just wasn't the complete truth.
"What happened? Are you okay?" he asked, his protective side taking over.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine... It's just, when I got home from my jog today, there was a man in the kitchen rummaging through our stuff. He just wanted money Liam. So I gave him what was close and he left. Not a huge deal," you explained.
"(Y/N) why didn't you call me?" he asked, the worry evident in his voice.
"I didn't want you to worry. Besides I handled it well and nobody got hurt."
"But what if he wasn't just looking for money?! What if he wanted something else?"
"Liam, he didn't want anything more but money. And now he's gone, so stop assuming the worst! I'm fine!" you chuckled a little at his reaction.
"This isn't funny (Y/N)."
"Oh... I'm sorry," you reached over and kissed him softly. "But it's okay Li. I'm safe and you're home, so everything's okay."
"I guess," he agreed, wrapping his arm around your waist. "I'm just happy he didn't hurt you."
"Me too." You smiled warmly up at him and he returned it finally calming down a little. "Now c'mon, you look tired. Let's go to bed." He yawned and you took his hand, leading him up to bed, just glad that today turned out the way it did.
