"What if he starts to cry?" Tom asks panicked. "The baby is sleeping, Tom." You say staring at his nervous self. His fingers going up his hair. "You'll be fine and I won't be that long." You say getting up to go to the bathroom. "Hurry." He says followed by a small smile to ease his nervousness.
The baby was fast asleep in the small hospital crib. Tom stared at the little bundle of joy born into the world just hours ago.
The loud ringing of his phone made him reach into his jeans pocket fast to pick up. The baby stretched his small body with the loud noise. Tom bit his lips hoping the baby wouldn't start crying. When the baby went back to sleep he slowly walked out of the room and stood by the door talking on the phone.
"I forgot the top." You say getting out of the bathroom to grab a top to change into from your previous baby puke shirt. "I'll be taking the baby to run some final tests before you leave." A nurse says with a smile as she carried the newborn baby. You nod your head as she walked out. You saw Tom standing sideways by the door on a phone call.
You get changed and walk out after hearing Tom cursing in more panic. "Oh shi- Oh hi love." He says quickly standing in front of the baby crib hiding it behind him. "What's up Tom?" You ask with a serious tone. "N-nothing. All good." He says running his fingers up and down the side of the crib. "Tom?" You ask as he was acting weirdly.
"I lost our baby." He mumbles looking at you with an innocent look. "You what?" You ask pretending to be mad. "I don't know. He was here before and then he wasn't." He says moving his hands around trying to explain it. "Just sit down on the bed and calm down." You say. "How can I calm down love? I lost our baby!!" He says panicking.
"Tom, you didn't. The nurse took him to do some tests." You say. He leaves a sigh of relief before falling down on the bed.
"The baby is all healthy." The nurse says walking in with the baby. Tom shots up immediately and the nurse gives the baby to Tom. He held the baby carefully in his arms. He smiles big when the baby opens his eyes looking at Tom and holding his thumb with his tiny fingers.
"You'll be the next Spiderman." He says in a whisper but loud enough for you to hear.
"What?" You ask.
"What?" He asks the same giving you his innocent smiling looks.
