You were happy to see Harrison after a very long time. He was your best friend and still is. Sometimes he can act up as a very overprotective brother. Like the time when you met Tom and he had clearly told you not to date him. He has given the same lecture to Tom as well but that didn't really change anything.
You and Tom hung out a lot when Harrison was busy and things took another turn. So there you are at his apartment with a bowl of popcorn having a movie night. "Harrison just called asking about you." Tom says joining you on the sofa. "And?" You ask. "He said you wasn't replying to him today. He was worried if something happened." He says tucking a lose strand of hair behind your ear. "I said you might have gotten busy or went to bed early." He says with a shrug.
"I don't want to lie to him bit I know he will be angry if he found out about us." You say a little sad.
"How come you never told about her? She's pretty." Tom says looking towards you from afar where Harrison has dragged him to. "Don't even think about it." Harrison says playfully hitting the back of Tom's head. "She is cool and we have a lot in common. I like her." He says. "You can not date her." Harrison says sternly. "I need a good reason why I can't date Y/n." Tom says looking at him with a raised eyebrow. "Because, well, she has gone through a lot and I feel terrible that I wasn't there for her all those years. She may look okay but I know she is still being hurt deep inside. I don't want her to hurt again. I don't want you to get hurt either. The press and everything could get all nasty. You know." Harrison says. Tom nodded his head. "Good." Harrison says as he leaves to go talk to you.
"Hey Y/n." He says greeting you. "Hi." You say with a big smile. "You like Tom?" He asks with your grin. "He seems alright." You say avoiding to look at him. "You can't date him." He says. "Because?" You ask. "Because, hmm, I don't want you to get hurt." He says. "He's your best friend and you know him." You say. "Yeah. It's the things around mostly." He says. "Okay." You reply. "Good." He says.
"What are you thinking about?" You ask looking at Tom who has been quiet for almost half an hour. "Hmm. That speech he gave me." Tom says. You place the bowl on the coffee table before moving to lay down on his chest. "He gave you a speech too?" You ask with a giggle. "Yeah." Tom says.
The next morning Tom wakes up to a loud bang on the door but before either of you could get up to open the door, Harrison walks in. "So it's true?" He says standing on the other side of the coffee table with his arms folded. "Ssshh!" Tom says as you were still sleeping. Harrison huffs as he walks into the kitchen to wait for Tom. He carries you to his room placing you on his bed so that you could sleep more.
"Explain." Harrison says the moment Tom walked into the kitchen. "You just woke me up. Give me sometime to fully wake up." He says rubbing his eyes. "Since when have you two been a thing?" Harrison asks ignoring what Tom had said. "A few months. How did you find out?" He asks curiously. "Internet." Harrison says with a sigh. "The internet?" Tom asks surprised as he takes out his phone to see what was going on. Him now fully awake looks at Harrison. "Um, sorry?" He says. "I'm mad that you guys didn't tell me." He says. "With that speech you have me. I didn't want to get beaten up." Tom says. "Well if you hurt her you will ht beaten up." Harrison says punching Tom's shoulder. "So, does that mean you are okay with me and Y/n dating?" He asks just to make sure. "I knew you two will date despite the speech I gave you. I've seen the way you looks at her." Harrison says. "So you just gave that speech to scare me?" Tom asks. "Maybe." Harrison says with a little laugh.
