Everyone makes a lot of bad choices in their life and those experiences changes a person. Sometimes the memories haunt the person.

It was end of another school year. You sat at the bench outside of school waiting for your friend. You always ignored people and their whispers every time you walk by.

Tom stood by with his group of friends as they discussed their plans for the vacation but Tom had his eyes set on you the entire time. "Yeah that sounds amazing." Toms says but he had no clue on what his friends had said. "You seriously have to get your eyes off that girl." His friend says hitting his shoulder. "He dated my brother for a while. Things got messed up and he got mad at her. The whole school saw her pictures. Maybe that's why she had to change schools but unfortunately the story had spread here too." Another friend of him says causing them all to laugh.

As his friends bid goodbye Tom made his way towards you. "Hi." He says with a awkward wave. "Um, hey." You reply a little surprised. "You're not going home?" He asks taking a seat next to you. It looks like almost everyone has left. "Waiting for my friend." You say. "The one with the curly hair? I saw her leave half an hour ago." He says. You look at him. "Really?" You ask shocked. "Did you call her when she was getting late?" He asks. "Yeah but she didn't pick up. I should get going then." You say getting up. "I can walk you home." He says jumping up from his seat. "No it's okay." You say. "No please." He says.

You pull down on the sleeves of your sweater. "How come I never see you out of school? We live in the same neighbourhood." He says. "I don't really go out much and I'm still new here so don't know what I might have to deal with." You say. "Oh. What happened to where you were living before?" He asks. "Nothing. My mom got transferred to work here so we had to move." Tom nods his head as he knew the truth on why you moved.

"Um, you want to hangout sometime? Maybe tomorrow? I can show you around." He suggests. "Yeah sure." You reply before you both parted ways to your houses.

Its been a week and you didn't go out with him. You ignored him for a week. You just felt scared and uncomfortable.

"Some boy is here to see you." Your mother says joining you at the kitchen. "Tell him to go." You say. Tom had heard what you said and your mother gives him a small sad smile before saying goodbyes as she left for work.

"Hi." Tom says greeting you. "Hey." You reply softly. "I didn't hear from you for a week. I got worried." He says. "I'm fine." You reply coldly. Tom sighs. "I know what you have been through but I really wish you'd not ignore me and like just let me treat you good." He says. He sits frozen with what he had just said.

"You don't know what I have been through. All you know is what others have been telling you." You say. "I don't care what they say about you. They don't know what you have been through and trust me, I could be the one to treat you like a lady." You smiled a little with what he had said. "So please go on a date with me." He says giving you a little pout. "Fine. I'll go on a date with you." You say. "You'll like it." He says leaning over the kitchen island to kiss your forehead.
