Cheers of happiness resonated all around the Koi Tower. The long awaited marriage between Lan LingJin Sect and Yunmeng Jiang Sect has just been fixed. Happiness and warmth radiated from Jin Zi Xuan and Lady Jiang. I was happy for Wei's Shijie. If he were here, he would have been so boisterous, happy and playful.
Sadly he isn't here.
He never will be.
He's christened as 'The Yiling Patriarch' now. An outcast. An unwanted member who now hides within the depths of the Burial Mountain.

Turning to leave, I walk away from the festivity. My duty here is done. I was asked to accompany my brother and put up a charade.

"You're leaving already" and I nod. She looks around and gestures me to follow her below the Chery blossom tree where a water stream flows by and the subtle smell of fresh lotus pond by the side of the bridge encompasses us.
"Hanguang-Jun, how is A Xian?" Her voice is filled with anguish and yet excitement for I could probably give her some insight.
My eyes find the lush full green ground, unable to look at her "I apologise, I am unaware".
The disappointment in her voice is evident "I thought you would know" her voice trails off. The silence between us is heavy and then she speaks "In this world, if there is anyone who is close to A Xian after A Cheng and me, it would be you. You have always shared a good friendship with him" she smiles and my eyes finds hers.
I am surprised.
"Hanguang-Jun, could I ask you for a favor?" Her eyes perk up with happiness and I subtly nod. "If you ever meet A Xian, could you tell him about his Shijie getting married?"
Hope.
"I want him to know. He won't be invited and he won't come here either. Politics of these clans are something I am never interested in. But for one, I want him to still be a part of my happiness. Could you let him know?" Her pleading eyes is quite similar to Wei's.
