Is there something as simple as holding hands that can bring you to near eternal happiness?
"Lan Zhan, save me" Wei clings on to me and my heart stops.
What is happening?
That's when I hear a bark and I look down to find a huge spiritual dog, barking at us, more precisely it's barking at Wei.
Seriously Wei Ying? The diabolical king is scared of a harmless dog? Seems I am, learning new things about you after all these years. Well anyways, I promised to protect you, so no matter how ridiculing this scenario seems, you're my first priority.
I glare at the dog in front of me and he immediately tucks his tail and hides behind Jin Ling, whimpering and scared. I remember him from back when Jin Guang Yao had bought him as a pup. He had proudly shown brother and me when we had been to Koi Tower, he wanted to gift the pup to Jin Ling.
"Lan Zhan" I heard Wei whisper and in that moment of distraction, Jin Ling and the dog disappear.
Oh well.
"You're my savior" a voice cries out and I turn to see it was the same man who was trying to sell Wei Ying the Yiling Patriarch's portrait. He was kicked by Jin Ling when he heard Wei Wuxian's name. The poor seller's goods were all strewn around.
Picking them up he handed it over to Wei "here, keep them. You can probably sell it it for far more".
Wei picked up one of the portrait and looked as if he had swallowed something distasteful. With sad eyes he looks at my direction and shows me the drawings. It was indeed bad.
"Mister, how could you draw the Yiling Patriarch in such an horrendous manner. I heard he was a handsome lad" turning back to me he pouted "don't you agree Lan Zhan?".
Looking fixedly at him, I spoke of the utmost truth "Yes, he was a handsome man". A soft imperceptible gasp left Wei's lips as his shocked gaze landed on mine. Time stoped and my heart grew weaker. He did not expect the truth from me.
