Our hearts were right by eachothers side. I finally understood what he felt for me and I was contended. I couldn't stop my tears from trailing down and if he saw them it didn't matter as from now on there was no charade. No pretense. With him, I could be me. Finally.

Parting slowly I once again kiss him and he grins. At this point, a series of quickened footsteps entered the main temple and I suddenly realised where we were. Jin Guang Yao, who had gone behind the temple to check on the situation with a few cultivators, returned again. Facing the torrential wind, two monks managed to shut and bolt the temple’s doors. Jin Guang Yao fished out a fire talisman to relight all the candles. The dim, yellow flames were the only source of light in this lone temple amidst the night rain. Suddenly, two crisp knocks came from outside the door and they echoed around the closed quarters.

Jin Guang Yao turned towards my brother and smiled as if he expected the person who just knocked the temple door "I wonder who could it be?"

Brother whose spiritual powers were locked too refused to indulge in any kind of conversation with Jin Guang Yao as he looked away, his eyes sought mine. The emotions swirling in them was too much for me to bear. He was always the kind one but today his soul was tearing into pieces. Is this how you felt all those years ago when you saw me drowning? My brother was a man who spoke and smiled more yet at this very moment he was shattered.

Sitting away from Wei Ying and me, his eyes landed between the two of us at our conjoined hands and as they rose to meet mine again, it conveyed happiness and acceptance.

The person outside the door yelled against the wind and rains, “Sect Leader, it’s me!”

It was Su She’s voice. Jin Guang Yao gestured, and the two monks opened the door. As Su She walked in he dragged another person behind him and all at once unceremoniously threw him on the ground.

"Sect Leader..." He stopped mid sentence when his gaze landed on Wei and Me and contempt could be seen in them "what is this? This is abomination!" He spat. I was about to retort when brother warned "Wangji" he shook his head and I understood, he did not want me to fall into their trap. Su She continued "I met him on my way here. I thought he might be useful, so I caught him." looking at the man lying on the floor he sneered "the head shaker could be of some leverage".

Jin Guang Yao looked down "Did you hurt him?"

Su She laughed sarcastically "No. He was scared and passed out."

At Jin Guang Yao's command he seated Nie HuaiSang next to my brother. He’d probably been caught by Su She after he finished resting at Lotus Pier, on his way back to Qinghe.

Unwilling to let the matter simmer, Su She sneered at  us "HanGuang-Jun and The Yiling Patriarch, isn't it quite a surprise that we’d meet so soon after our altercation at Burial Mountain? Seems the odds are in our favor this time".

He was trying to instigate Wei and knowing him and Jin Guang Yao's tactics I held on to Wei's arm and shook my head and whispered "Don't indulge him, Wei Ying". Our silence did not act as a detrimental factor for him as he mocked us further "Who would have thought that Hanguang-Jun would be a cut-sleeve too?" he spits.

Before Wei could retaliate, Jin Guang Yao smiles eerily "Wangji" he looks at me and bows "I mean Hanguang-Jun's heart for The Yiling Patriarch is quite famous throughout Gusu even though no one spoke about it openly. The years of yearning, the threats he received but above all the pain in Hanguang-Jun's eyes when he thought no one could see? We all did" he turns to Wei Ying "I must say you're a lucky soul Yiling Patriarch, for if you're here, you're the answer to Hanguang-Jun's prayer". I hear Wei gasp and my hold against him tightens.
