This place holds memories I wish I could forever forget, but if I do, then I would never remember my Wei again.
If I was asked to choose between you and letting go of my painful memories, I would always choose you. This way, I can still live with you.
Standing atop of the cliff, I look down at the bottomless pit of the Nightless City. Five years ago, this was the night I last held you. This was the night, I confessed my heart to you. This was the night you left me all alone. This was the night, I lost you.
"Lan Zhan" a soft breeze envelopes me and I close my eyes. Feeling his fingers thread with mine, a soft peck on my cheeks and I smile.
My Wei.
"I miss you, Lan Zhan" he whispers and my heart tugs.
Not more than me Wei. Not more than me.
"Knew I would find you here" the contempt in his voice is clear and my tranquility is quashed by his presence.
Opening my eyes, I turn to face Jiang Cheng but my eyes falls on the object in his hand and the pain is fierce in my heart.
Chenqing.
"Ah, so the great Hanguang-Jun finally reacts" he laughs as he tosses Wei's Chenqing from one one hand to the other. Such abomination. My grip against my Bichen tightens and somewhere in the spiritual realm, Chenqing's partner, Wangji burns with untameable wrath.
"Jiang Cheng" I warn him. That's my Wei's. If you don't respect him, atleast respect the fact for a relation you once had, Jiang Cheng.
"What? You going to fight with me? Kill me? Hurt me? Hanguang-Jun, how would you feel if I break this in two?" He mocks.
Though I know he would never hurt the Chenqing but my heart breaks again. Dread settles in and I plead from within 'please don't hurt my Wei again'.
"What happened Hanguang-Jun, lost all your valor?" He laughs and suddenly he stills. The air around him changes and so does his character "How do you sleep at night, Hanguang-Jun? Could you not hear those innumerable screams of the souls he had vanquished?" He walks closer towards me but my eyes rests only on the Chenqing.
"He took away my family. I will never forgive him" boots to boots, he hides the Chenqing behind him away from my yearning eyes "Do you know what I am upto these days, Lan Wangji?" His eyes are menacing "I am whipping every single monster who practices or follows the Yiling Patriarch. I rip out their souls and send them back" he pauses "to your Wei Ying"
"Jiang Cheng" I warn. Do not take his name, especially not the name which only I can call.
"Did it hurt? Me calling Wei Wuxian with the name only you have called him as a right bestowed on you?" He walks around me slowly "I have destroyed everything that belonged to Wei Wuxian back in Lotus Pier. We have no use for him and he should be glad he's dead".
No. No. No.
Please no.
He continues "because if he isn't, I will send him back to that hell he deserves to be in, for eternity" he stands in front of me and grins "Lan Zhan" he whispers and that... that breaks my vow to be patient with Wei's family.
The next second I press Bichen against Jiang Cheng's nape and his eyes widen with surprise, shocked that I could attack him.
Why wouldn't I? That name is chaste. I have given only one man the right to call my name. No one else has the right in this world to call me 'Lan Zhan'
