evermore

Taylor wakes up, sunlight filtering in through the cracks in the blinds. She groans, really not wanting to face life right now. She's just felt so heavy the past few months and honestly isn't sure that this feeling will ever go away. Unable to quite drag herself out of bed yet, she reaches over to her nightstand and grabs her phone. As the phone turns on and her notifications begin rolling in, her heart sinks. The extensive amount of calls from her publicist suggest that overnight something has, once again, happened. Taylor takes a shaky deep breath, shutting her eyes for a moment in an attempt to battle the stress and anxiety away before returning Tree's call.

"Taylor! Good morning, sorry to have bothered you so early but there's something you need to be aware of." Tree gets straight down to business which Taylor appreciates, not particularly wanting to be beaten around the bush with an issue.

"Morning Tree, lay it on me." Taylor sucks in another deep breath in an effort to prepare herself for whatever is about to occur.

"Well...it appears that Calvin Harris has decided to go on a bit of a Twitter rant about you." Her blood goes cold at hearing her exes stage name. The reminder of the romance that swept her off her feet in the beginning before it felt as though he was simply tolerating her, the fear of leaving him because of whatever the general public might have had to say about it. The reminder of those feelings makes her feel even worse than when she'd first woken up. All she wants to do is forget about everything that had ever occurred within that relationship. Tree must've taken her silence as a sign to continue,

"He's furious about the leak that provides a suggestion that you are, in fact, behind the pseudonym listed on the song writing credits. There's not a whole lot we can do to counteract his comments so I've sent you a screenshot of the tweet for you to read in your own time. I suggest you just read it so you're aware and then do your best to put it all behind you. It'll blow over soon enough. Okay?" Tree's words are incredibly direct and assured, she's glad she hired her for all this stuff. Taylor has no idea how she'd handle any of these things if she didn't have an incredibly skilled publicist like Tree working on it.

"Okay, thank you for letting me know. I'll see you soon." Their call disconnects and Taylor shuts her eyes once more, letting her feelings practically consume her to the point of complete and utter self loathing. She looks at her phone again and finds the screenshot Tree had sent her. Her heart sinks even further, she wasn't aware that was even possible at this point. Why on earth do people feel such a need to paint her as a manipulative villain? All she wanted to ever do was make music and make people feel things with the lyrics she writes. Being in the public eye like this is incredibly brutal, but the past year has been the worst it's ever been. She's at a point where she feels as though she's worth absolutely nothing.

Her mind ends up drifting to those ocean blue eyes that she hasn't been able to stop thinking about since she first laid eyes on him. Joe. The man who had completely pulled her in, despite her being unable to do anything about her attraction. She'd had a boyfriend. They are still in touch as friends but Taylor is terrified of taking her feelings any further, not wanting to hurt him, or herself for that matter. She's tired of ruining things purely because of who she is. She can't change who she is which just makes things worse and sends her into this downward spiral. She has an unfortunate feeling that this pain she feels may last forever, and that simply terrifies her.

Once again, her life had taken, yet another, downward spiral. Taylor had awoken to the news that #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty was the number one trend on twitter worldwide as a result of a leaked Snapchat video that Kim had decided to post of her private phone call with Kanye. It is very apparent to Taylor that the videos posted were only a few short, out of context, clips of what was a long phone call.
