Laughing and drinking. There's not much more Taylor remembers from her evening out. Drake had thrown himself a birthday party and she'd been invited, she was excited to go. Partying makes her feel normal, she enjoys the excitement of it all. The fire in her veins as she dances the night away, a drink never not in her hand. Maybe she'd gone a little too far with the drinking because even now - on the car ride back home - she's hammered. She's got dollar bills stuffed in her bra that people had been shoving down there all night. It had been fun, she giggles to herself in the backseat. She's excited to be going home to her boyfriend, he'd flown in to see her two days ago. Boyfriend. She can't quite believe he's her boyfriend. They'd been friends, and then friends with benefits for ages before their feelings properly caught up with them. Now they just never want to be apart, always running to each other when they have the opportunity. In her drunken haze, she feels herself blushing and grinning stupidly as she thinks about him.
Soon enough, she's driven into her garage. She thanks her driver before jumping out and stumbling to the front door. She's definitely not walking straight. Not bothered to even try find her keys, she just knocks on the door - hoping Joe will come get her. Sure enough, the door swings open and there he is.
"Taylor." She notices the frown on his face but can't quite figure out why it would be there.
"Hi." She giggles, hiccuping. Joe pulls her inside, holding onto her as she stumbles into the kitchen. He sits her down at the kitchen counter, pouring her a glass of water. She gulps it down, hadn't realise how thirsty she is. Joe re-fills it, sliding it back over to her. She drinks half of that before setting it back down on the counter. "You seem mad." She observes, her thoughts slightly clearer now.
"We're dating, officially." He says, his frown deepening as he folds his arms across his chest.
"I know that?" She's confused as to where he's going with this, her mind clearer but still fuzzy.
"I'm all in this, for real. But you go out and let strange guys shove money down your shirt and take provocative pictures with other people and now there are rumours that YOU are dating DRAKE. I think you can figure out why I might be slightly annoyed right now."
"People think I'm dating Drake? That's a bit stupid." She laughs, still confused.
"That was not the point Taylor."
"Oh." She thinks hard, trying to remember what she did tonight that would've upset him.
"Goddamnit, you're completely wasted! And you were dancing provocatively with strange men - you can't just do that anymore Taylor!"
"I wasn't dancing provocatively!" She argues defensively
"Well it sure as hell looked like it."
"You weren't even there. How would you know what it looked like?" He's silent after that, looks a bit caught out. It's only then that she realises what he's been doing all night.
"You googled it?" Now she's mad, she'd always stressed how important it is that neither of them google each other - the perceptions are always all wrong.
"I couldn't help it. When you left dressed like that I couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen." He mutters, clearly still peeved.
"Dressed like what?" She challenges. "A dirty whore? Someone who's going to spend their evening collecting as many men as possible? Fuck you." She breathes out, getting up to go walk away. The anger in the room has quickly sobered her up.
"That's not what I meant." Joe sighs. "You look hot, and then I see people shoving money down your shirt? How is that fair to me? Your partner, who's sitting here at home waiting for you."
