Taylor had booked out the studio for the entire day today, excited to get large amounts of her album completed. She'd spent months writing, collecting different lines, words and ideas and is finally ready to collate them all, she finally feels ready to put out another album.
After several hours had passed, Taylor honestly feels like they'd made amazing process and was so excited to continue. Suddenly, her phone started ringing. This perplexed her because she'd muted all her incoming calls from anyone except her mom or Joe, and neither really had a reason to be calling her right now. She quickly looks at her her caller ID, realising it's Joe and answers, stepping outside briefly.
"Hey babe, I'm just right in the middle of something right now, can I call you back in like an hour?" She doesn't get any response and the silence starts to scare her. Something's wrong, she can tell.
                              "Joe?" She asks tentatively,
"Taylor..." His voice sounds heavy, as though it took all his energy to say her name. She's terrified, please let him be okay
"Hey, what's going on?" She asks softly, attempting to sound disarming and no where near as panicked as she actually is.
"I-I dunno, I just can't anymore..." Taylor can hear the emotion his voice, he sounds like he's been crying for hours.
"You can't what?" She asks gently, not wanting to work him up. But when she doesn't get a response she knows her next words sound slightly more panicked than they had previously
"Joe you can't what?!" Another silence prevails, she's about to completely lose her cool but then she hears him take a shaky breath.
"I just...I don't know who I am right now...please, I just need help, I don't know what to do. I'm scared Taylor, please." His voice sounds more fragile than she's ever heard it and it scares her, she feels tears well up in her own eyes but she knows she needs to remain strong for him.
"I'm on my way, I'll be home in 5-10 minutes okay? Can you hold on that long?" She doesn't want to hang up on him if he thinks he's going to do something bad in that time. There's another silence, Taylor presumes he's contemplating his response.
"Yeah, just please come now...I really need you."
"Oh Joe, I'll be there so soon, I promise. I love you so so much. I'm on my way right now okay? Just hold on for me." She hears more shaky breaths on the other end.
                              "Okay."
"I'm going to hang up now, is that okay? I'm leaving now."
"Yeah, I'll see you soon." His voice breaks her heart, she can just hear the pain in it. Taylor hangs up the phone, before rushing back inside. She quickly tells everyone she needs to urgently deal with and they seem pretty understanding. She jumps into the backseat of her car and urges her driver to get her home as quickly as he can.
She practically holds her breath the whole way home, it felt like the longest journey of her life but it really only was a few minutes. She knows Joe suffers a lot from his mental health and it pains her tremendously that he's struggling this much today and she'd left him alone. He hadn't said anything this morning and now her heart has just shattered for him. When they pull into her garage, she quickly thanks the driver before running upstairs as fast as she can, slightly terrified of what she's going to find.
"Joe?" She calls out through the apartment, the silence bouncing off the walls is almost deafening. Taylor begins frantically searching the downstairs area before running up the stairs.
                              "Joe?!"
"In here" Taylor hears his voice call out from their bedroom. She slowly pushes their door open and walks inside to see Joe sitting on the floor, his knees pressed up to his chest, leaning against the bed. She immediately lets her knees hit the floor as she wraps her arms around him, pulling his body into her chest.
