Taylor wakes in the middle of the night, her arm absolutely killing her. It appears that the insomnia is hitting her hard and she can't help but feel slightly jealous of Joe's peacefully sleeping body. They'd both received their final vaccination yesterday afternoon and it finally gave them both a breath of relief knowing the world was on its way to recovery. However, now Taylor is just frustrated at her inability to sleep, knowing damn well she's going to feel like she's been hit by a bus tomorrow. As she tosses and turns some more she lets out an aggressive sigh before stepping out of bed, making her way to the kitchen for some tea. Tea usually soothes her enough to slip into sleep.

Unfortunately, after two cups of tea, Taylor is lying back in bed still unable to sleep at all. So she gives up, opting to just lie there with her eyes closed, thinking about whatever wandered into her mind. Finally at 4am, she feels herself begin drifting off into the world of sleep.

Taylor feels the sunlight on her eyelids, wincing as she feels herself being tugged out of sleep. She groans, rubbing her eyes. As she feels herself entering the real world, she begins to notice the array of side-effects from the vaccine and does, in fact, feel like she got hit by a bus. As she opens her eyes she looks over to see her boyfriend smiling down at her. She just groans again, burying her face in her pillow, he's clearly fine.

"Oh love." He says sympathetically, gently rubbing her back. His hand feels nice, soothing almost, but she still feels like crap. "Well, Dr Alwyn is on the case!" His voice holds traces of laughter as he makes his joke but all she can do is grunt in response, despite feeling like laughing at him, she just doesn't have the energy. Taylor feels his weight move off the bed, hears the door to their bedroom open and close a moment later. Her brain doesn't hold the capacity to even wonder what he's gone off to do, just lays there with her face smooshed up against the pillow.

Taylor isn't sure how much time has passed, but she hears Joe re-enter their room.

"T?" She hears him whisper loudly.

"Hmm?" She murmurs, finally rolling around to look at him. He has a grin on his face, holding a tray. He gently sets it down next to her before climbing back into bed.

"I brought us up breakfast, plus some advil for you." He gently scratches her head for a moment, Taylor smiles sleepily up at him, reaching for his hand and gently kissing his knuckles. She definitely doesn't feel like eating but she knows she'll regret it if she doesn't at least take the advil, so she does so quickly before dropping her head back on the pillow. She feels Joe's fingers gently running through her hair. "Love, you gotta eat something. Just a little bit at least." He murmurs, she feels his lips press against her forehead so she lets her eyes flutter open again. She realises he's holding a small piece of toast out for her and can't help but smile. "Open wide." He grins as she begrudgingly does as he requests, popping it gently into her mouth. They continue this for a few more minutes before Taylor's stomach really can't handle it anymore. Joe gently sets the tray down next to the bed before gently pulling her into his arms. She feels sleep tugging at her, ironic considering nothing would let her sleep last night, but she happily accepts its call snuggled up against Joe's chest.

Not too long later, Taylor slowly feels herself waking up, much to her own dismay. She still feels god-awful, but on the bright side, she can still feel her boyfriends arms wrapped firmly around her.

"Hi love." She hears Joe murmur, feels him press a kiss into her hair. Taylor gently lifts her head up off his chest to smile at him. His lips curl into a smile of their own as he gently rubs her back, reaching under her shirt to touch her bare skin. She just sighs contently, enjoying the peace his proximity is bringing her, despite how awful she's feeling. Her head falls against his chest once again, taking solace in his presence.

That's how the next few hours continue, Taylor slipping in an out of sleep, Joe holding onto her tightly, gently rubbing her back or playing with her hair. They'd always been good at this, comforting the other when they're not feeling the best. As it rolls around to midday, Taylor subconsciously feels Joe slip out of bed. Her body has practically melted into the mattress and she can't tear herself away from it at this point. A few minutes later, Joe re-enters their room and she feels him place another tray down in front of her. Taylor groans hearing Joe's chuckle, she feels his arms gently tug her upright so she opens her eyes. She can't help but smile at the fact he'd made her lunch too. She forces herself to eat most of it, her appetite is slowly returning but she's taking it easy, not wanting to find a reappearance later. After she manages that, she even feels a small bit of energy returning to her body. She smiles at this small victory, choosing to use it to lift herself up and kiss Joe.

"Thank you. I love you." She murmurs, before letting her head fall back on her pillow. Joe leans over her body, pressing a warm kiss to her forehead.  The couple enjoy their bubble of being able to just be with one another for the day - despite Taylor not feeling the greatest. Taylor's schedule is all over the place at the moment, collaborations and re-recordings will do that to a person. So she's been pretty busy, and Joe's set to do an array of filming in Europe for a while so he's been preparing for that. So despite being in the same place all the time, there's not much time for them to just relax like this. It's times like this that Taylor holds the closest to her heart. Moments like this with the person she loves the most. He's been with her through everything at this point, he's with her at her lowest and in her happiest moments. He's happy when she is, and vice versa. They've carved out this life together that she wouldn't change for the world.

Taylor grabs his hand, squeezing it tightly while shifting herself closer into his warm body. Intertwining the two of them. She feels Joe reach for the remote, quietly flicking on the office. Joe had recently agreed to watch the American version with her, and they're slowly making their way through it whenever they have a moment. Joe returns his arm to her waist, the two of them snuggling up with each others warmth. She feels Joe tracing soothing patterns on her hip as she slowly lets her eyes flutter shut once more.

It's 4pm when Taylor wakes again, she'd slept almost four hours and finally felt closer to human than she had the entire day. Her throat feels less like sandpaper, her body much less exhausted. She stretches carefully, still entwined with Joe. She sees him look down at her and she smiles, the grin he gives her in return lights up her whole day. Taylor reaches up to run her fingers through his hair, causing him to lean down and kiss her carefully.

"You feeling any better?" He murmurs, gently moving his fingers in her hair. She nods, sighing contently.

"Thanks for taking care of me." She says softly, gazing into his deep blue eyes.

"Of course, I always will." He gently strokes her cheek before leaning in for another soft kiss. She sighs happily, lazily kissing him back and enjoying everything about the moment. The feeling of his hair beneath her fingers, his gentle caresses, just how incredibly in sync the two of them are. The feelings of happiness and love filling the room with a gentle glow. As Joe pulls away, they both grin at each other before he gathers her up in his arms again, the two of them returning their eyes to the screen as the office plays softly for them. Both of them basking in the simplicity of the silence between them, the wonderful glow of being together in this way.
