Taylor's wildly nervous, she's trying her best to pick out the perfect outfit that isn't too formal or too casual, too long or too short - she wants to come off as a normal person, not too up herself but definitely not looking like a slob. Today's the day Joe's taking her to meet his family. She's worried about the normal stuff of course, but she's also terrifies as to whether or not they'd recognise her, whether they'd read the tabloids or whatever else is always swarming with fake headlines - particularly considering the media storm that follows her everywhere nowadays. Once someone's read all that stuff, it's hard to make a good impression. After she's spent an awfully long time digging around in her closet, she hears Joe come in behind her, leaning against one of the many doors that had been swung open.
"Taylor love, stop stressing. They're going to love you, no matter what you wear." She spins around to face him, smiling softly.
"I just want to make a good impression." She mumbles, looking shyly at him. He simply nods,
"I know but trust me, you will. Because I love you, and you make me so happy and that's all they care about." She smiles widely, letting him pull her in for a quick hug, a lingering kiss being pressed to her forehead. She thinks part of her is also worried because something tells her that this is the family she could know for the rest of her life, even though it's still early days.
"Now hurry up and get ready, we're leaving in half an hour." He leaves the closet again after gently pecking her lips. She stands amongst her mess for another few moments before deciding on black jeans with a pretty top. Taylor scurries into the bathroom, quickly applying simple makeup and softly curling her hair before throwing on the outfit she'd chosen, zipping up her boots and grabbing her coat.
Finally she's ready, and with two minutes to spare. She walks downstairs, feeling her heart beating wildly in her chest. Taylor fiddles with her fingers, a nervous habit she finds herself doing whenever she's nervous. Joe smiles warmly at her as she walks towards him, he gently grabs her hand, kissing it softly.
"You look beautiful." He murmurs. She gives him a half smile before kissing his cheek, grateful for his remark. Joe leads her to his car and opens the door for her, before climbing into the drivers seat and setting off. It's a 45 minute drive from their place in London to Joe's childhood home. Taylor just sits staring out the window, completely lost in her thoughts - not really noticing much else.
"What are you most worrying about right now?" Joe's voice startles her out of her reverie for a moment before she looks down at her fingers, picking at her nails.
"That they already have an impression of me." She mumbles, knowing she's said it over and over again. She feels a little stupid saying the words again. She notices Joe pulling over on the side of the road before his hands grab hers.
"Taylor, my love." He carefully brushes hair away from her face, his gentle touch comforting to her. "They don't read stuff like that, I have a feeling my parents won't even recognise you. They just know you as Taylor, the woman I can't stop talking about." He says softly, rubbing the back of her hands gently. She looks up at him, pressing a small kiss to his lips.
"Thank you." She whispers, wrapping her arms around him and resting her chin on his shoulder for a minute, his arms enveloping her. She feels her nerves drop a little, his reassuring words have helped. The couple pull back, exchanging a brief kiss before Joe starts up the car again, continuing their drive. While Taylor does still feel nervous, she's feeling more confident than she had been five minutes ago. She notices his hand doesn't leave hers for the rest of the drive.

Half an hour later, they've pulled up to the front of Joe's parents' house. Taylor takes a deep breath before stepping out of the car, firmly grasping Joe's hand. He gives her a quick smile, squeezing her hand gently as they make their way up to the front door. She has butterflies in her stomach when Joe knocks. They stand there for mere seconds before the door swings open.
