"Taylor come on, you're being so unreasonable! It's so unfair to me that you just assume I'm going to walk out of the fucking door every single time!" Joe and Taylor, like most couples, find themselves in arguments and disagreements at times. This time however, Taylor knows she'd blown things out of proportion but couldn't quite stop herself. Her own anxieties and insecurities had gotten the better of her and she'd just gone ahead and assumed the worst.

"Well you never know!" Taylor yells at him, her hands balled into fists, pure frustration and anger was pouring out of her and she can't control it. Joe groans, running a frustrated hand through his hair.

"Oh for fucks sakes, I'm not going to just sit here and take this! Come find me when you've found your senses and decide to stop insulting my love for you." Joe spins around and storms up the stairs, leaving Taylor to fume on her own. She begins to pace the living room, trying to calm herself down and stop the anger coursing through her veins. She'll never fully understand why her knee-jerk response is to just accuse him of wanting to leave, or eventually leaving her. She knows those insecurities are all just built up in her own head but she can't stop her mind from going there. Clearly he was getting hurt by it now, because in the beginning he would just assure her he wasn't going anywhere. Now, he was getting upset over it which Taylor knows is fair enough. How would she feel if she did nothing but love someone and they other person continually questioned it?

Eventually she's able to calm herself down enough to sit down on the couch. Taylor puts her head in her hands for a moment before pulling out her phone to distract herself. Well, that turns out to be a pretty big mistake. For some reason on this particular day, her feed is filled with comments in response to an article that had been posted about her body. It's comparing what she looked like during her 1989 tour to what she looks like now, touring reputation. Taylor feels a tightening in her chest as she reads what the article says. She should've shut the page the moment she saw it but for some reason her curiosity was getting the best of her. The more she read the article, the faster her tears rolled down her cheeks. When she finishes, she shuts her phone off, sliding from the couch onto the floor, pulling her knees to her chest and sobbing, tangling her hands up in her hair, unable to do much more than focus on everything she was trying so hard not to hate about her own body.

Taylor lies on the floor for a while, unable to do anything and not really sure how long she'd been lying there for. Everything was just building up in her mind, her fear of driving Joe away, her body insecurities that were now amplified thanks to her reading that stupid article but moreover how helpless she was feeling. She knows going to Joe right now would help make her feel better almost instantly but she couldn't bring herself to get up and go to him, knowing that they were in the middle of a fight she'd caused. Taylor's chest was feeling extremely tight and uncomfortable, knowing this stems from her anxiety just makes it worse because she can't seem to fix it.

Minutes later, she hears Joe coming down the stairs and she begins to freak out more. She doesn't have the strength to fight him again. Her body is hidden by the couch, so she knows he won't be able to see her. Taylor hears Joe walking from room to room, assumedly trying to find her before giving up and calling out,

"Taylor?" In that moment she can't figure out if she should answer him. Her mouth seems incapable or forming the words to respond but she tries to push herself into a sitting position in the hopes that he'd see her.

"Taylor?!" His voice sounds more concerned now that he still hasn't found her.

"Fuck please tell me you haven't left. Taylor!" Tears are still streaming down her face but she answers him this time.

"Joe." She calls out weakly. She hears him coming towards her, when he reaches the room he takes her in before moving closer to her.

"Love, why are you crying?" Taylor just shakes her head, placing her head in her hands. She feels Joe kneel down beside her for a moment before she feels him pull her body to his. She presses her face into his chest before breaking down in his arms. Joe holds her tight, occasionally rubbing small circles into her back.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you like this." Joe murmurs into her ear which just causes Taylor to cry harder.

"It's not you." She manages to get out in amongst her tears. The room is silent after that, except for Taylor's cries. She calms down being in Joe's arms, he really has that effect on her every time. It's just something about him and their connection that is just able to bring Taylor down from even her worst panic attacks. Once most of the tension has eased out of her body, Joe gently leans back, still holding her, but so he's able to see her face. She looks into his eyes, seeing love and concern pouring out of his expression. His fingers softly brush her cheeks, wiping her tears away.

"If it's not me, then what happened love?" He asks gently, allowing her to answer the question in  her own time. Taylor sighs, resting her head back on his chest for a moment before reaching onto the couch for her phone. She unlocks it before handing it to him, the article still open, tears glistening in her eyes. He scans the headline before looking back at her.

"Oh Taylor." Is all he says before he pulls her back to him, tossing her phone back onto the couch. He runs his fingers through her hair, before holding her as close as he possibly can. In his arms, she feels safe. The warmth his body brings her is the best comfort to her in the world, she's able to focus on that rather than what that article had told her.

"It's not true. You know that. They'll spin anything into a story, they don't care about your feelings or your health at all." Taylor just shrugs, burying her face further into his chest. Joe sighs before moving her body so she's sitting in his lap properly, he holds her close with one arm wrapped around her body and the other hand he runs comfortingly up and down her legs.

"I didn't mean to look at it...I just wanted to distract myself by seeing what the fans were up to." She mumbles, ashamed that she'd let it get to her.

"I know babe, it's okay. You're going to be okay." Silence falls over the two of them again, Taylor clings to Joe, relishing in the feeling of being curled up in his arms. Grateful for the fact that he's comforting her despite the argument they'd just had. Taylor takes a deep breath,

"I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier. I shouldn't be doing that. I know you're serious about us, I really do and I need to learn to stop going worse case scenario every single time." Joe squeezes her tight, kissing the top of her head.

"It's okay, it just hurts to hear you say that sometimes because I love you so so much and I just want you to feel loved by me, that's all I want." Taylor grabs his hand that's resting on her leg and entwines their fingers, squeezing his hand gently.

"I know you love me, I love you too. I'm so sorry, I really am working on not doing that, I don't want to hurt you. I'm going to try even harder." She sighs, really bothered by her own insecurities. Joe squeezes her hand back, pressing another kiss to her head.

"I'm here with you, every step of the way okay?" Taylor nods into his chest.

"Okay. And thank you...for comforting me, even though I was being a bitch." She lifts her head off of Joe's chest to look up at him, offering a small smile.

"You weren't. I understand why you're insecure about these things, I need to work on remembering that rather than just being hurt. Besides, I'll always comfort you, no matter if we're arguing. If you're going through something tough, I'll be by your side with a hug. I want you to feel safe, loved and happy, above anything else." Joe murmurs softly before bringing his face down to hers, kissing her softly. Taylor parts her lips, deepening their kiss, encouraging him to continue. When the two of them pull apart, Taylor throws her arms around Joe's neck, hugging him tight.

"I love you." She whispers. Joe's arms wind tightly around her back, holding her just as close.

"I love you too baby." He murmurs into her ear. Just like that, everything is okay again. They both definitely still have things to work through but they love each other and are both willing to work through everything together and that's what matters.
