Joe hears a rather large and concerning bang coming from upstairs. He'd just been watching TV most of the day - leaving Taylor to her work, promising to have dinner and a movie ready and waiting for when she finished. But the bang spikes worry, so he jumps up - quickly running up the staircase.

"Taylor?!" He calls out, not even waiting for a response before yanking her office door open. The sighs before him is confusing, everything that had once been on her desk has been dumped on the floor - sheets of paper everywhere, glass smashed. And amongst it all, his wildly frustrated girlfriend. He can see some sort of fury in her, but nothing from the room can tell him what's cause it. "Taylor?" He attempts to get her attention, and she does look up at him but continues to say nothing. So instead of pushing her to talk, he carefully steps between her mess to get closer to her - wrapping his arms around her. He holds her close, knowing it must be something big for her to not even be able to talk about it - and to shove everything off her desk. He feels her face pressed into his chest and his heart bleeds for her as he gently rubs her back, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head.

They stand there for a while - Joe having all the time in the world to just hold her close and make sure she's okay. Eventually, he feels her arms wrap around his waist and he knows she must be somewhat returning to reality. Closeness has always been important to Taylor - to the both of them really, but Joe knows just simply holding her is the best way to make her feel better.

"Some idiot crashed his car into our place in New York." She mumbles finally.

"Was it an accident?" He murmurs, pressing his lips to the top of her head again. He just feels her shake her head and squeezes her tighter.

"Oh love." He doesn't really know what to say to her. This kind of thing happens every couple of months in New York. It's why they don't particularly spend time there anymore - unless they have to. But despite is happening so much, it's terrifying. And they're supposed to be flying out there tomorrow.

"They ripped my fucking intercom out of the wall." Her voice cracks and he knows tears are probably sliding down her cheeks.

"Has he been found?" He asks softly, trying to help Taylor feel less freaked out.

"Yeah he's been arrested." She mumbles weakly. He feels her grip on him tighten. If anything - this all scares him shitless. But it scares her more, so he has to at least seem calm.

"Then that's good - he can't do anything from behind bars love." He murmurs, gently swaying the two of them. Just trying anything to make her feel better.

"I know." Her head finally lifts off his chest - her puffy eyes and teary cheeks almost break his heart. He gently cups her face, wiping away her tears and placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

"It's all going to be okay. He didn't even get inside, and security's going to be dealing with it. It's not something we have to worry about." He brushes her hair carefully off her face, looking into her watery eyes.

He watches as she buries her face into his chest again, slumping against him. He carefully picks her up, making sure not to step in any glass before taking her downstairs. He figures she can finish up whatever work she's been doing today another time. This feels more important. He gently lays her on the couch, tucking her under a thick fuzzy blanket before getting some ice cream from the freezer and two spoons. He makes his way back to her, snuggling in beside her.

"Here." He passes her a spoon, opening up the lid. He sees her smile a little and is so glad.

"We haven't even had dinner yet." She mumbles.

"So? Tonight there's no rules - we'll get to dinner, don't you worry about that." He smiles, waving the ice cream around in front of her. She grabs his arm to stop his movements before digging in. He watches happily as she eats her ice cream before grabbing the remote and flicking on friends. The couple lay cuddled up together - watching her favourite TV show and intermittently grabbing large spoonfuls of ice cream.
