Taylor can't believe her eyes. She just stares down at her phone, her vision beginning to blur,  her hands trembling from the shock. Tree just sent her an article to warn her. It's the first time the world has gotten a whiff of her relationship. The Sun has released an article with information from an 'inside source' that she's been dating Joe. They'd named him, they'd never managed to find a name before. Of course there'd been speculation that she's been seeing someone, but she never wanted them to know who is is. Immediately her mind switches into overdrive. Who's the source? What's going to happen now? But worst of all - her fears of all this ending, of him running are at the forefront of her mind. She doesn't want to lose him, she loves him so much and everything with him has just been so good. Taylor shuts her phone off and sighs, staring out of the window, at London. The rain drips down the window in the same way her tears are dripping down her face. She lets out a shaky breath, trying to calm herself down. She knows Joe will be home soon, and that she'll have to tell him. She knows that this will change things, now that the world has gotten this piece of information - the hunt for them will be on, paparazzi scouring for pictures to sell so the media can run some big story on them. It's all too much, it's why she's kept this private for so long.

It's not that she's ashamed of her relationship - far from it. It's that she knows the very public nature of her life tends to bring the good things she has crashing down around her. It's the last thing she wants to happen with Joe. She also knows that because of who she is, they'll both be bombarded with questions, speculations and theories coming from every angle which means it won't be private anymore. Joe's going to see every single downsides of her life and leave her, before he gets too entangled into this mess. She sits there, damning herself for being Taylor Swift. She leans her head on the cool glass window, trying to reign in her irrational fears. She knows that Joe loves her, it's been on of the greatest things about him - she knows it's love, there hasn't been any games with him. But will all that be enough when things get complicated? It'll be so much easier for him to find someone normal, someone easier, someone with a much less complicated life. She wraps her arms firmly her body, hot tears pouring down her cheeks that she's desperately trying to stop. The last thing she wants is for Joe to come home to a sobbing mess.

Taylor feels an intense amount of pressure building in her chest that tries to shove down - but the more she tries, the more it builds. She's trying to remind herself that she'll be okay, no matter what. But the fear of losing something she holds so closely to her heart, something she's tried to protect for so long is eating away at her. She knows it's now only a matter of time before someone sees them, before pictures are taken and released. All she had wanted to do was protect this relationship, but now the bubble they'd been in for months is starting to burst. She desperately wipes under her eyes, trying to focus on her breathing but nothing is working like it normally does. Every single fear and anxiety that goes along with them being caught are at the forefront of her mind - unable to be washed away.

After a little while, she hears the front door lock click and her heart practically stops beating. Joe's home. Taylor can't bring herself to move so she just sits there, her head leaning against the window, pretending to be interested in the London cityscape below her as tears carve paths down her cheeks.

"Taylor?" She hears Joe call out from the front room but she can't force any words out of her mouth. She's just scared. She doesn't know how she's going to deal with him leaving her and that's what she's convinced herself he's going to do. She hears his footsteps moving through the apartment, getting closer to her as he calls her name a few more times. Tears slide faster down her cheeks as she hears him enter the room but she still doesn't turn around.

"Taylor? I'm home." Joe's soft voice fills the room, causing her to heart clench and the trembling in her hands gets worse. She hears Joe moving closer towards her. "Hey, are you okay?" He murmurs, she feels his hand touch her shoulder and her body stiffens up but she continues determinedly staring out of the window, not wanting him to see her like this right now. "Love what's wrong?" Taylor squeezes her eyes shut, hanging her head and biting her lip. She feels Joe sit down beside her, his hand gently caressing her back. After a moment, she forces herself to open her eyes and look into his. She sees his blue eyes widen, assumedly at the sight of her tears. He grabs her shaking hands, holding them tight - letting her know she's got his full attention and support in this moment. Taylor takes a deep, shaky breath - desperately trying to get control of herself before telling him.
