Joe had been invited to the 2019 Tom Ford fashion show and he was incredibly excited for the opportunity. He'd been 'glammed up' all morning and now that he was on his way to the show, he was a bucket full of nerves. He's only been apart of 'Hollywood' for three years now and he still finds events like this mutually exciting and nerve-wracking.

When he arrives, Joe realises he's been sat in the front row, another thing that just completely astounds him. Joe looks down the row and much to his surprise he saw someone he never expected to bump in to, which he supposed was kind of stupid considering where he is and who she is. Karlie Kloss is sitting a few people away from him. All that's running through his head at this moment is Taylor, and everything he knows Karlie had done to her. An over-protective wave seems to wash over him. But he knows he can't do anything right now, or ever really. It's not his place, as much as he kind of wishes it was. His eyes can't help but move back to her, but this time he notices that she's staring at him too. Their eyes meet for a moment before they both quickly avert their gazes, focusing on the show in front of him, but all he can seem to think of is the pain that this woman had caused his girlfriend, and still causes to some extent. He does his best to focus on the show in front of him, or at least seem like he's paying attention.

A break in the show happens, and much to Joe's dismay he sees Karlie coming towards him. He stands up, and attempts to not look like he's seething with anger.

"Hi I'm Karlie." She says, holding her hand out for him to shake, he does so quickly.

"I'm Joe." She just looks him up and down, in a seemingly judgmental manner.

"So you're Taylor's latest...thing. Well, enjoy the show!" She saunters away leaving Joe's anger boiling in his chest. The audacity of that woman. He notices them being quietened down again, the rest of the show is about to begin. Joe knows that he's supposed to be enjoying the night, but all he's focused on right now is keeping his cool, not wanting an outburst at this high-profile event. He feels Karlie shooting him looks but he purposefully ignores her, not wanting his anger to become out of control.

As Joe hops into the back of his car, his chest is almost bursting with anger, and sadness at Karlie. The fact that she'd even had the audacity to come up and speak to him,  knowing damn well exactly what she'd done, clearly she had no shame. All Joe wants to do right now is go hold Taylor tight and just protect her from the outside world. He knows damn well that she's capable of doing that on her own, but tonight he just can't help but feel protective. He'd spent too many nights listening to her cry over Karlie and what she'd done to not feel that way. He loves her more than anything, he'd do literally anything for her and what Karlie had done is just unforgivable to him. Taylor didn't deserve to go through any of that, she never deserves to be betrayed in that way again. He doesn't necessarily want to bring up seeing her to Taylor, purely because he knows it'll upset her but he'd never keep anything from her. She definitely doesn't deserve to be lied to.

As the car pulls into the garage, Joe jumps out and makes his way quickly upstairs, his entire body is still tense but he tries his best to enter the apartment calmly. He shuts the front door and hears Taylor call out a

"Hey babe!" from the living room. Her voice relaxes him, ever so slightly. He pulls off his jacket and shoes before moving towards her. As he enters the room, Joe sees her resting her arms on the back of the couch and looking up at him, grinning. He gives her a small small, walking up to her and gently kissing her forehead.

"Hi love" he murmurs softly before walking around the couch to join her.

"How was it?" She asks gently, seeming to have picked up on his mood to some extent.

"Um...it was good I guess." He lifts his head up, allowing his eyes to meet hers.

"What's wrong? You seem tense." Joe just sighs before pulling her body into his, hugging her tightly against his chest. He feels her wrap her arms around his waist and melt into his embrace. Neither of them say anything, he just holds her as close as he can, resting his head on hers.

After like five minutes of silence, Joe decides it's time to tell her but continues to hold her close.

"So something happened tonight that I think I need to tell you about." Joe feels her tense up in his arms for a moment so he gently rubs delicate circles into her back, trying to break the new gently.

"I uh...I saw Karlie there. I didn't know she was going to be there before I left, she was just sitting a few seats down from me and completely shocked me and then..." He takes a deep breath before continuing "During the break she came up to me and just looked all judgey at me and said I was your latest thing." He feels Taylor let out a small breath against hist chest.

"I'm sorry." She murmurs, tightening her arms around his waist. Joe's perplexed,

"Wait, why are you sorry?" Taylor snuggles further into him,

"Well because you felt judged, and you shouldn't have to feel that way. And it's because of me that you felt that way." Joe just grips her tighter and presses a kiss to the top of her head.

"Oh baby no, it's not because of you. It's because of who she is as a person. She just has no respect for people whatsoever. I didn't care what she thought of me, all that was running through my head was all the awful things she did to you. I was so angry at her for that, I can't even explain the extent of it." Joe feels water dripping onto his shirt and he realises that tears must be falling from her eyes. He kisses her head again, continuing to hold her close.

"I love you so much." She murmurs "I've never had anyone understand my feelings, or even feel them to an extent before. So thank you for that." Joe's heart warms,

"I love you too, I'm still so sorry that you had to go through all that." Her head lifts off his chest and she looks up at him.

"I know you are, and I'm so grateful for that. But it's okay, because I have you and she's not in my life anymore. She can't hurt me further." Joe gently tucks her hair behind her ear,

"You didn't deserve to be hurt at all love. But I'm here to help you through anything you need, whenever you feel sad or angry about literally anything." Taylor smiles at him,

"I know, your anger tonight proves that to me, how willing you were to tell me about it. Thank you for not keeping it from me." She says softly, throwing her arms around his neck. Joe holds her close, breathing her in and gently running his hands through her hair.

"Anytime." He murmurs. He knows he would do anything for her, and he feels comfort in the fact that he knows she'd do anything for him too. They take comfort in each other with things like this, neither feeling the need to lie which they're both so grateful for. They're the one for each other and Joe has never felt happier in his entire life.
