Taylor sucks in a nervous deep breath as her car pulls up to the entrance of the Golden Globes red carpet. Tree's sitting beside her, running her through everything she'll need to expect - how to act, what to say and so on. She's done this so many times but tonight is different. Tonight she's sitting with Joe - something they'd never done before. It's adding to her nerves for the evening, but part of her is glad he'll be here with her. Slowly, she steps out of the car, heading on into the event. She stands on the red carpet - posing - allowing the hundreds of people to take pictures of her with their huge cameras, she understands this is part of her job but that doesn't make it any less overwhelming.

Once she's been standing there for a reasonable amount of time, Taylor quickly makes her way inside, skipping over the interviews - that isn't something she does anymore, for a numerous amount of reasons. She's directed to her table - hurriedly taking her seat, waiting nervously. She knows that the world is going to flip out over this, knows how excited her fans will be - she wants to not care, but there's always a tiny voice in the back of her head that worries it'll all get too much for him at some point. She's terrified about the headlines, what they'll say, what rumours they'll concoct over a simple facial expression or hand movement. But despite all of her fears, she wants to be able to do this, wants to be able to go to events with her boyfriend - just like any other normal couple. She's certain that he's  the one for her and feels nothing but comfort from being with him. And it'll be nice to be able to go to things like this together, so they had decided that this is a good place to start, considering they've both been nominated tonight so it makes sense - something she's hoping will lessen the shock factor.

She makes polite conversation with the people sitting around her for almost 20 minutes before he sits down next to her. His presence instantly calms her growing anxieties about this whole situation. She looks over at him, letting a small smile grace her lips - one that he returns before grabbing her hand and squeezing it gently.

"How was the carpet?" He asks softly, leaning closer to her so they can hear one another over the noise in the room.

"Alright, you?" She murmurs, just as softly. He nods and shrugs, indicating that he feels about the same. The conversation between them ends and they both find themselves chatting and greeting different people until a silence falls over the room - the event is beginning.

Taylor feels herself zoning in and out until she realises that it's almost her time to go up and present an award with Amy Poehler. When the next intermission begins, she gently squeezes Joe's hand before getting up to find Tree - who gives her a rundown of exactly what's going to happen. She finds herself nodding along and before she even full realises it, she's walking on stage, ready to say a few funny lines before presenting the award for the best animated movie. Her eyes instinctively find Joe in the croud as she does her part. She realises that she's slowly beginning to feel more comfortable here, her fears and anxieties have slowed down. Once she steps off the stage, she re-joins Joe at their table and he smiles at her, rubbing her back gently - slipping his hand in hers before they both go back to watching the ceremony.

As the night moves along, the two of them have consumed some champagne and are beginning to loosen up. Taylor has her arm resting on Joe's shoulder during parts of the commercial breaks and they find themselves feeling more comfortable about being out together - subconsciously moving themselves closer to one another. So far, no one has said anything about it. She appreciates Joe making sure she's drinking water in between the alcohol, enjoys his presence. They've started talking more to each other - rather than just sitting in silence and she's feeling lad that Joe's here with her - rather than just being all anxious about it. She's still hyper aware that the entire evening is being filmed, that there are cameras everywhere so she is trying to not be overly-touchy. She keeps finding herself biting her nails when she a particularly anxious wave rolls through her - sometimes she catches herself, other times she feels Joe nudge her, which is enough for her to remember to hide her hands in her lap.
