Taylor was buzzed out of her mind and she was having such a good night. She's thrown a party to celebrate the VMA nominations with the entire cast and crew of the You Need To Calm Down music video, as well as a few other people. She's spent the entire night mingling with everyone, enjoying herself and just living in that moment. Now, she's stumbling to a quieter room so she can call her boyfriend who she was now missing like crazy, despite the fact that she's surrounded by other people. She hits dial and he picks up after a couple of rings.
"Hey babe, is the party over already?" Taylor giggles,
"No silly! I just miss youuu." She giggles again, clearly drunk at this point.
"Oh Taylor, I miss you too. Are you drunk?" She can hear the smile in his voice.
"No!" She whispers really loudly and she hears Joe laugh.
"Okay babe, whatever you say. Look, I've gotta run but enjoy your party and I'll see you in a few days okay?" Taylor giggles,
"You're such a good man Joseph. The cats miss you!" She says, laughter creeping into her voice and she hears Joe sigh.
"I love you, have fun!" Joe says softly into the phone.
"Love you tooooooo!!" She then bursts into giggles for like the hundredth time that night as the phone call disconnects. She puts her phone away and stumbles back out into her living room where the party is still very much in full swing.
                              ---------------------------------
The rest of the night and early morning is spent dancing wildly, letting herself loosen up and getting completely drunk. She enjoyed herself and her time with her friends loads and as she says goodbye to the last lot, she sighs contently. It's 2:41am and the room is a complete mess, a sign that it'd been a night of extreme fun. She's still drunk, but now she's alone. Taylor makes her way to the kitchen, not quite in a straight line but she makes it there nonetheless before grabbing some water. She sits down at the counter, trying to consume a fair amount of water, not wanting to be completely ruined in the morning. She kicks her shoes off and opens up her phone to see if Joe had messaged her at all. He hadn't.
After a while of sitting there, drinking water, Taylor sighs and trudges up the stairs. When she reaches their bedroom, she tries to unzip her dress. In her drunken state, she can't quite get it off so she gives up and goes to the bathroom to take off her makeup. Once that's taken care of, she practically launches herself onto their bed. She lays there for a while just staring up at the ceiling. She's at the point in the night where she's really just missing Joe. She had such a good time tonight but now all she wants to do it curl up with her boyfriend and fall asleep. Plus some help getting her dress off couldn't hurt. After a while of just staring into space, her eyes begin to droop and she falls asleep in her party dress, thinking of how much she misses Joe.
                              ---------------------------------
Taylor feels someone running their hand up and down her leg and she bolts upright, who the hell would be here touching her? Her eyes adjust to being awake slowly and she's finally awake enough to realise exactly who had woken her up. Joe. Before she even fully comprehends what she's doing, Taylor throws her arms around his neck, hugging him tight. She feels his arms wrap around her body, holding her close.
"What are you doing here?" She whispers, refusing to let go, fearing that this is just some drunken dream that she'll wake up from.
"I missed you, plus I wanted to congratulate you in person..." Taylor tightens her grip on him, burying her head in the crook of his neck.
"I missed you too, so much. God, I'm glad you're here..." Taylor murmurs, feeling Joe's hands grip her body tighter.
"Me too...I was supposed to get in a few hours ago, my plan was to surprise you at your party but there were unfortunate delays." Joe whispers gently into her ear.
"That's okay, I'm just so glad to have you back...it's been too long." She leans back a little, just so she's able to look into his eyes, never wanting to let go again. Joe moves his face down to meet hers, their lips meeting softly in a gentle reunion kiss. When their lips part, Joe moves his hand to brush hair off of her face, tucking it gently behind her ear.
"I see you're not too drunk anymore." Taylor laughs softly, shaking her head.
"Nope, I think you managed to sober me up a bit. I'm sure I'll have a wicked hangover tomorrow!" Joe presses a kiss to her forehead before pulling her back firmly against him again.
"Don't you worry love, I'll be here to take care of you." She feels his head rest on top of hers and she smiles. God she's lucky to have such a sweet and caring man, her arms tighten around his warm, familiar body.
"I love you." She sighs happily.
"I love you too Taylor." Joe murmurs.
Some time passes before Joe speaks again,
"Is there any particular reason why you were sleeping in your party dress?" Taylor laughs, she'd totally forgotten about that.
"Um yeah, I kind of couldn't get out of it." Joe just laughs at her.
"Would you like some help with that now?" Taylor nods,
"Yeah but just give me a bit, I'm enjoying this moment." She feels Joe's head lift off of hers before a kiss gets placed on top of her head.
"Come on, I'll help you out of it and into one of my shirts. We can resume our cuddles back in bed in a moment." Even as he's talking, Taylor can feel herself falling asleep against him, finally feeling at peace enough to do so quickly.
"Mmm..." She moans slightly. She hears Joe laugh and then feels her body get hoisted up so she's standing in front of him. She looks up at Joe who's grinning down at her and shaking his head teasingly. He slowly turns her body around and moves her hair gently out of the way before delicately unzipping her dress and pulling it down her body. He then unclips her bra, letting it fall off her as well before grabbing one of his big t-shirts and pulling it over her body. Taylor smiles sleepily at him, trying to express her gratitude because she's feeling much more comfortable than she was moments ago. Joe laughs, pulling her body to his again, wrapping his strong arms back around her body. Taylor lets herself fall into his arms, breathing him in, enjoying the warmth and security he brings her. She feels herself falling asleep again and she's fairly positive that all her weight is against him and that he's probably the only thing keeping her standing. Suddenly she feels him pick her up and places her down on the bed, under the covers this time. Taylor can hear him shuffling around the room, assumedly getting himself comfortable before he crawls in beside her. She moves her body so that she's snuggled up against him and his arms wrap around her body. She sighs contently, loving this feeling. The feeling of just simply being with him, she'd missed this more than anything. God she loves him, he came all this way for her. Flew in at ridiculous hours of the morning just to see her. She's been in love with him for a while now, but every day she seems to fall deeper and deeper. It's something that used to scare her but now she's way more assured about everything, including him and she loves loving him. She loves being loved by him. She wouldn't want to change a thing. As she falls asleep, wrapped up in her boyfriend's arms, she doesn't think of anything else but him, and how happy she is that they have each other.
