Taylor walks through the door with a slight spring in her step, she'd had a really exhilarating day re-recording her old music, today hadn't been emotional, it'd just feel really incredible and freeing. As she closes the door behind her she hears Joe call out,

"Hey babe! Just in time, I've got dinner ready!" Taylor feels a smile form on her lips, her boyfriend had cooked them dinner. Some days, she still can't quite believe how lucky she is to have found him. She loves him more than anything in the world and she's so confident that he feels the same way which is something really special. She pulls off her coat and shoes before moving towards the dining room, her smile widens into a grin when she sees Joe standing there. She moves towards him, hugging him tightly as a greeting.

"Hi, thank you for cooking dinner." She murmurs into his ear before pulling back and pecking his lips.

"No worries, how was your day?" He asks as they sit down to eat. Taylor feels her excitement over her music take over again and she begins talking enthusiastically about todays process.

"Oh it was amazing! I got to do some of the songs from my first album which was insane to go back to, so many of those songs were written well over a decade ago! It felt so so nostalgic. I wrote The Outside when I was just 12, did you know that? That just seems so crazy, like that's 19 years ago, I was a literal child!" She can feel how wide her smile is and she just can't seem to stop,

"Damn when I was 12 I was just some dumb kid causing his teachers and parents hell." Taylor smiles at him,

"They all loved you, I'm sure." A silence prevails before Joe speaks up again,

"Come to think of it, when you were 18 you released a Grammy winning album and I was just still in school. And when I got my first acting job, you were already like the biggest artist in the world." He's barely even looking at her, just staring at his untouched food and Taylor's smile fades, she gets the sinking feeling that something's wrong. Joe tends to self-sabotage by comparing their pasts a bit when he's feeling low. She knows how he can struggle with his mind sometimes and she wants to stop the spiral before it goes too far, the last thing she ever wants is for him to feel down.

"Hey...are you alright?" She watches carefully as Joe bites his lip and nod slightly, she puts her hand over his, her concern for him overwhelms anything else she may have previously been feeling. She loves him so much, he's the most important thing to her and she knows she'll always put him first.

"You sure? You just seem a bit...down." Joe stands up in a huff, letting her hand fall from his.

"Of course, I'm fine." He says shortly before taking himself upstairs, clearly upset with himself in some way. She isn't quite sure how deep-rooted this issue is, or where it's come from this time but her heart breaks for him. She knows how hard it is to question whether you're enough, whether you've made good decisions in your life or if you could've done something better.

Taylor, having suddenly lost her appetite clears the table, scraping their leftover food into containers to be reheated later before stacking the dishwasher. She knows he needs time to cool off on his own before he'll be willing to listen to anything she has to say. As she slowly cleans up the kitchen, she tries to figure out how best to comfort Joe and make him feel better tonight. She knows she'll go talk to him and hold him close, promising she loves him more than anything. But she wants to spend the evening doing something that will make him feel a bit happier.

Once the kitchen is completely clean, she sets up the TV and turns on the British Office before laying out a few cozy blankets and arranging the pillows in a way that allows the two of them to snuggle up and be incredible comfy. Once it all looks incredibly enticing, Taylor walks upstairs to go talk to Joe, not wanting to leave him alone with his thoughts for too long. When she reaches their room, she knocks gently on the door,

"Joe?" She calls out softly, not wanting to just barge in.

"Yeah" She hears his flat voice and pushes the door open, just wanting to hold him. She walks in to him curled up on the bed, facing away from her. Taylor moves towards him, sitting just next to him and placing her hand on his shoulder.

"Hey...what's going on babe? Talk to me, I'm always here for you..." Joe sits up slowly to look at her,

"I'm sorry, I think I'm just having a bad day and spiralled" He mumbles, looking down at his hands. Taylor wraps her arms around his body, pulling him close to her and rubbing his back,

"It's okay, happens to the best of us." She murmurs softly, kissing the top of his head.

"I'm here for you. Always." She reassures him, knowing he probably needs the reminder right now. She knows he isn't much of a talker and him letting her in like this is a huge deal for him, letting her see him when he's feeling this way is something she appreciated because Taylor knows is means he trusts her.

The two of them sit in silence for a while, Taylor just silently holding him tight and Joe clinging onto her for support, his arms around her waist, his head resting on her chest. Eventually, Joe lifts his head up and Taylor loosens her arms so he can sit up.

"Thank you." He murmurs before pressing a gentle kiss to her lips, she smiles

"Anytime. Now, if you'd like to come back downstairs with me, I thought we could just chill out with some TV?" Joe smiles and nods,

"Can we get changed first?" He asks and Taylor laughs at herself,

"Oh yeah, I totally forgot I hadn't even done that yet!" She presses a kiss to his cheek before moving into their ensuite to wash her face and tie back her hair.

Once they're both changed, Taylor entwines her fingers with Joe's and leads him downstairs. She sees a small smile form on his face when he realises what she's got lined up on TV for him. He lays down on the couch, pulling her tightly to his body. The two of them snuggle up together, their legs and fingers entwined. Neither of them wanting to seperate without an actual need to. 30 minutes into their cuddle time, Joe speaks

"I love you so much, thank you for doing this for me." Taylor looks up at him and smiles,

"It was my pleasure, I'm always here for you. You're so so important to me Joe, I love you too, more than anything in the whole world. Never forget that." She watches his smile get bigger with her words before he presses a kiss to her forehead.

"I won't, I promise." They go back to being snuggled up in silence, she makes sure to squeeze Joe's hand every now and again, hoping he wasn't letting any dark thoughts creep back into his mind, reminding him that she's there. She feels him squeeze her hand back and she knows that all is right in the world again, she'll spend forever offering him silent comfort, just as he does the same for her. The love they share is honestly the most important thing for Taylor and she wouldn't have it any other way.
