Taylor wakes, feels the warm sheets covering her body. She's in the middle of her reputation stadium tour and finally has a few days off, she'd flown to New York where she'd been met with her boyfriend, who's sleeping peacefully beside her now. She's been put on vocal rest for the day which is going to make things interesting. She sighs, stretching her arms above her head before crawling out of bed to take a shower. A day off really isn't much of a day off when she knows her inbox is probably a complete mess right now.

As she walks out of the bathroom, she looks over again at her boyfriend, who's still sound asleep. His hair's all tousled from sleeping, his chest rhythmically rising and falling. Taylor feels her heart clench with happiness, god she loves him. With a final glance in his direction, she pads downstairs and into the kitchen for coffee. She's exhausted, completely and utterly, but it feels good. Performing always lights her up in a really rare way, she feels completely in her element. There are days where it's hard, of course there are, where she's so completely exhausted she collapses into bed, tears staining her cheeks. But she forgets all about that when she's up there, singing the songs she's so damn proud of. Taylor opens her laptop on the kitchen island, hoisting herself up on the stool and sipping her coffee. She begins to flick through the hundreds of emails, discarding the ones she has no interest in and marking off the ones she needs to reply to. It truly is a tedious task, the admin side of her job is never any fun. She feels her eyes drooping as she scrolls through them.

Before she realises it, she can feel someones hand running through her hair. Taylor sighs, it feels nice and relaxing. She sits up, turning around to face Joe, grinning at him.

"You fell asleep on the counter love" He says with a smirk, clearly finding it hilarious. It pains her to not be able to throw a retort back at him so she just rolls her eyes, shaking her head. He laughs, pressing a kiss to her head. Her eyes instinctively close as she leans into his warm body, his arms encircle her, it all feels so incredibly peaceful.

"You must be exhausted, just take the day off with me. We can watch TV, just hang out. Surely the emails can wait until tomorrow?" He's convincing her, she wants to just give in and ignore her work. He is technically right, she is in need of a break so she nods against him. She can work tomorrow. She hadn't realise how exhausted she is until she let herself just stop, and just simply be still in his arms. Her entire body feels heavy and exhausted, she really just needs a day on the couch. After a few minutes of relishing in Joe's warmth, Taylor feels him gently pick her up, doesn't even really care where he's taking her, just wraps her arms around his neck, her head falling against his chest. She eventually feels herself being placed in between his legs as he lays them both down, allowing her to cuddle into his chest. She closes her eyes again, his hand rubbing up and down her side, his other hand delicately scratching her scalp. His movements lull her into a peaceful slumber, finally succumbing to the rest her body so desperately requires.

When Taylor wakes again, she can feel his hand running through her hair, as though he hadn't stopped the whole time she'd been sleeping. She takes a moment to adjust to being awake, blinking a few times and rubbing her face against his chest. She hears him let out a soft giggle, clearly amused by her actions.

"Hi love, welcome back to the world." She props herself up on her forearms, tipping her head back to look up at him, smiling, already feeling miles better than she had when she forced herself out of bed the first time. She wonders how long she's been asleep, but obviously can't ask him. Joe bends down, his lips connecting with hers. Taylor sighs into the kiss, blissfully happy with being able to have him alone, a whole day to do absolutely nothing but bask in her boyfriend's presence. He pulls back and Taylor frowns, he just laughs at her again, pressing a kiss to her forehead before slowly moving to get up.

"I'm going to go make up some food okay?" He boops her nose, leaving her on the couch, Taylor falls back against the cushions, enjoying relaxation of not having to do anything. Joe comes back ten minutes later with sandwiches and a whiteboard. He sets the whiteboard down on the table, handing her a plate of food. She grins at him, sitting up properly to eat, excitedly shoving food into her mouth, she's starving, hasn't had anything to eat yet. She finishes quickly, resting her head on Joe's shoulder as he finishes his. Joe gently rubs her knee before pulling the whiteboard over and passing it to her, she raises her eyebrows at him, wondering where on earth he even got it from.

"I bought it with me, I knew you'd be on vocal rest today and figured you'd be frustrated by that so here's how you can communicate." he passes her a marker. Taylor feels so touched by this, he's so incredibly thoughtful, honestly it's the little things he does like this that make her fall deeper and deeper in love with him every day. He just knows her, always pays attention to the little things. In the past, no one would have ever done this for her, probably even spent the day in a different room. She feels tears stinging in her eyes, happy ones. She leans forward to kiss him, gently caressing his cheek before scribbling three words down on the board.

'I love you' She watches Joe smile as he reads them,

"I love you too, what do you want to watch?" She grins, quickly writing her answer down on the board.

'Grey's anatomy - an important vocal rest show' He just laughs, pulling her to him as he flicks on her request.

"Oh love, I should've known." She feels her grin widen, has to stop herself from laughing.

'Don't you dare make me laugh today' She writes, gently poking his arm.

"I mean, I'll try, but we both know I'm just naturally hilarious." Taylor hits him, would love to sarcastically retort but instead just curls up against his chest, grabbing his arm and winding it around her body, holding tightly onto his hand. She feels him press a kiss to her cheek before the both of them just lay there, perfectly content in the others presence. Her being silent hasn't made things weird, they don't need to talk to be happy. Just being with the other person is more than enough, being able to hold him, run her fingers through his hair is everything Taylor could ask for. She knows he understands, didn't even feel nervous telling him she had to be silent for an entire day because she just knew he'd be accepting of it. That he'd still do everything he could to make her comfortable, and enjoy their time together. It's days like this where Taylor is hit with a hug wave of appreciation for where life has brought her. Last night, she was performing to thousands of people and today, she's curled up in the arms of the person whom she loves the most, the person who understands her better than anyone. She wouldn't change any of this for the world.
