The jet drifted through the grey-blue sky as we headed towards the city. I had managed to sleep for around an hour before Steve gently woke me as a cityscape appeared out the front window. We both stood up and supported ourselves on the handrails above our heads.

The tall buildings carved into the blue sky. Towards the middle of the view, a bright blue stream of light poured upwards into the sky, soaring up to a giant hole in the atmosphere. Loki had been successful. I watched as the Chitauri army invaded Earth.

I saw Stark pulling the trailing Chitauri through the buildings while blasting them like a needle pulling a thread. I know I couldn't actually hear it, but I knew that the thousands of people on the streets below were screaming in terror as aliens attacked their home.

"Stark, we're on your three, headed northeast." Natasha spoke through her headset to Tony as she co-piloted the jet to the heart of New York.

Steve handed me an earpiece that connected to the communication line of the team as he fitted his own. "What? Did you stop for drive-through? Swing up Park. I'm gonna lay 'em out for you." Tony blared through my ear as Natasha and Barton dove the jet down between the buildings. A gun was lowered out of the bottom of the jet and Natasha shot bullets at the Chitauri as they flew after Stark.

The jet shot down the streets as we neared the base of Stark Tower. We circled the top of the tower where I spotted Thor and Loki duelling each other. My heart filled with warm happiness in the middle of all this absurdity at the sight of my presumed dead brother.

"Nat?" Barton checked in with Natasha as he steered the jet around to a better view.

"I see him." She said as they manoeuvred the ship, ready to fire at Loki, which didn't even bother me after our last encounter.

The gun fired at Loki as Thor rolled out of the way, before Loki blasted the jet with his sceptre. The blast hit one of the engines and the jet shook causing me to trip over Steve's foot causing my whole body to crash into his, leaving us both led on the floor. I led on top of his body and couldn't help but smirk a little. I pressed my hand on his chest as I pushed myself up and grabbed hold of the railing, before pulling Steve up.

The jet started to fall from the sky and the streets were growing closer. The temporary lack of gravity forces Steve and I off the ground holding on to the railing. The jet bashed into buildings as we prepared for a bumpy landing. The jet crashed into the ground sending debris flying over the window as the room shook intensely.

The back of the jet opened up as we all prepared to fight. "We got to get back up there." Steve called as we collectively ran in the direction of the tower, before we became distracted by a rumble that came from the portal. We looked up and a giant, roaring beast, I knew to be called a Leviathan dove down through the portal. This just got a whole lot harder.

The Leviathan flew over our heads, the Chitauri  jumping out of it. Steve, Natasha and Barton were struck with horror and shock as they took in the scene. It's not like this wasn't terrifying for me, of course it was but it was a lot more familiar for me then the others.

The Chitauri scaled down the buildings or crashed in windows, attacking the civilians inside.

"Stark, are you seeing this?" Steve asked through the comms as he watched thousands of the Chitauri flood the city like an unstoppable plague.

"Seeing. Still working on believing. Where's Banner? Has he shown up yet?" Stark called through the earpiece.

"Banner?" Steve asked, confused as we had no idea where Bruce even was.

"Just keep me posted."

The Chitauri began to shoot as us, so we instinctively ducked behind a yellow car. A pack of them flying on ships flew overhead and I spotted a similar, ridiculous pair of antlers and raven hair.
