I looked up to where Bruce had jumped from and saw this obnoxiously coloured ship with a woman stood in the open hatch. She looked equally surprised as the rest of us before it became invaded by a huddle of skeletons.
This must have been the Valkyrie that Thor mentioned and what made it better was the fact she was wearing the actual armour, making her look even more badass. I was completely starstruck.
She valiantly kicked a few of them off the ship before closing the hatch. The ship started to swirl out of control as it started to lose height.
The army of skeleton warriors that had been lurking behind the big dog had charged and were speedily heading along the bridge, towards us.
Maja and I ran forward to use our abilities on the incoming enemies.
While I knocked over a stack of them with a blast of energy, Maja had a crowd of them jumping on her back. They were pulling her down against the bridge while she fought to get to her feet.
I swiped a sword from one of the skeletons I had taken down and started bashing the ones attacking Maja. They were trying to drag her off the bridge, so I smashed the sword over their bones, shattering them, as Maja hung off the edge of the bridge. She clung on for dear life, but her hands started to slip.
I dived towards her just as she slid towards the water below and snatched her hand just as she was about to fall. Terrified, she looked down to the dark waters, her eyes wider than saucers and her lip starting to tremble.
As soon as she realised that I had her, she clawed at my hand as I pulled her up, desperate to get back on the bridge.
Once I had helped her up, she looked back over the edge of the bridge before shaking off her fear. "Come on!" She commanded as she ran back to the incoming attackers.
I glanced up to the ship above me that was spinning further out of control with skeletons scattered around the outside. It dipped from the sky and started hurtling in my direction.
It crashed through the infrastructure of the bridge as it zoomed towards me. I threw myself to the floor in panic as it spun over my head and smashed into the bridge behind me causing me to shelter my head from the flying debris.
With the distraction over, I looked back to the centre of the fight and saw several skeletons attacking Heimdall and winning. I started to run over to help him.
He fended them off with the Bifrost sword, slashing them horizontally before one of them kicked him to the floor. It was raising its weapons above its head, ready to swing them down and I absorbed power from the Tesseract, getting ready to blast him out of the way when a rock giant beat me to it.
He brutally exploded the beast with his weapon before swinging it onto his shoulder, standing casually at Heimdall's feet, leaving us both very confused.
"Hey, man. I'm Korg. This is Meik. We're gonna jump on that spaceship and get out of here. Wanna come?" The rock giant named Korg asked with a surprisingly high-pitched voice as an even stranger looking creature appeared at his side.
Just as Korg had finished speaking, a distant rumble started to vibrate the floor and everyone on the bridge's eyes were drawn like magnets to where the sound was coming from.
I squinted into the distance expectantly where an ominous fog was creeping in our direction. As something drew nearer, the outline of a figure with antler like horns became visible through the mist.
"Your saviour is here!" An unmistakable voice yelled over the crowd as my raven-haired brother appeared from the fog.
My delight was hard to disguise as Maja swiftly glided through the crowd to join Heimdall and I at the front of the typical display of Loki's superiority complex.
