We all sat around drinking, playing cards and just talking for what must have been hours. Steve told me all about what happened with the appearance of Bucky and how him and Sam are trying to find him now and how that's where he ran off to that morning. I offered to help them but also reminded that I have little to none experience with that kind of thing and that I wouldn't be much use. I then told him about everything with Loki and my mother, the happenings in Greenwich and Jane with the Aether.

We had a lot to catch up on, but it was great to finally know a lot more about each other.

Clint then started asking Thor and I about how Mjolnir works. "But it's a trick." He jeered as he twiddled drumsticks, between his fingers.

Thor and Steve had both been 'enjoying' more spirits, but I was being restricted, which was probably a good idea. "No, no, it's much more than that." Thor explained as him and Steve clinked bottles, my head still nuzzled into Steve's lap.

"'Ah, whosoever be he worthy shall haveth the power!' Whatever, man! It's a trick." Clint imitated while gesturing to the hammer that was propped up on the table.

Thor started to laugh. "Please, be my guest. Come on." He encouraged Clint. Oh, this was going to be fun.

"Really?" Clint inquired, surprised, as he stood up, clearly excited to have a go.

"Yeah." Tony chimed in as the others all joined into the conversation.

"Oh, this is gonna be beautiful." A man I learnt to be Tony's best friend, named James Rhodes or Rhodey, added making Tony laugh as we all watched Clint line himself up to the hammer.

"Clint, you've had a tough week. We won't hold it against you if you can't get it up." Tony joked as he took a swig of his drink. No offence to Clint, but he was not exactly 'worthy'. He was a great guy, don't get me wrong, but he would not be able to lift the hammer.

I haven't ever actually tried to lift the hammer. I remember Loki and Thor having arguments over it when we were little. Loki was always mad that he couldn't lift it. I never had the care to try. Just like the throne, that was always my brother's thing. I don't really know why I never tried, I just haven't.

"You know I've seen this before, right?" Clint stated while Thor and I giggled in advance of what was about to happen. Clint wrapped his hand around the handle and pulled. He grunted as he tried to lift the hammer from the table, unsuccessfully of course. "I still don't know how you do it!" He cackled, stepping back from the table, giving up.

"Smell the silent judgement?" Tony chipped in. I could tell he was waiting for someone to dare him to have a go, desperate to raise his own ego.

"Please, Stark, by all means." Clint encouraged as Tony stood up, ready for his turn.

The others started jeering as Tony cleared his throat and stepped up the challenge. "Never one to shrink from an honest challenge."

"Get after it." Clint laughed as he sat back down on the floor.

"It's physics." Tony tried to convince himself as he looped his finger into the strap and prepared to pull.

"Physics." Bruce chuckled as he leaned back in his chair to watch.

"Right, so, if I lift it, I then rule Asgard?" Tony asked, stalling.

"Yes, of course." Thor responded. It didn't really mean that, but Thor was just humouring him. He and I both knew that, like Clint, Tony would not be able to lift Mjolnir.

"I will be re-instituting prima nocta." He added, lifting his foot onto the table and pulled as hard as he could. He then unhooked his wrist and stepped back. "I'll be right back." He muttered before running up the stairs to the lab.
