Loki flew the ship around the Dark World in hopes of finding Malekith and drawing him away from Asgard. The air was ice cold as it ran past my rosy cheeks and through my hair. Ominous, black clouds loomed overhead as Loki steered the ship between different sharp rock formations.

Jane began shivering on the floor and Thor removed his cape and draped it over her in an attempt to warm her up. "What I could do with the power that flows through those veins." Loki commented, his lust for power shining through.

"It would consume you." Thor advised as he came and sat next to me in the mid-section of the ship.

We flew over the edge of a small cliff and below us were hundreds of Dark Elves shipwrecks piled on top of each other.

"She's holding up alright. For now." Loki gestured to Jane who was lying down, I'm not sure how conscious she actually was at this point.

"She's strong in ways you'd never even know." Thor grunted at Loki who smiled his wicked smile back.

"Say goodbye." He sneered making both Thor and I shuffle uncomfortably.

"Not this day." Thor muttered in reply.

"This day, the next, a hundred years, it's nothing. It's a heartbeat. Neither of you, you'll never be ready. The only people whose love you prized will be snatched from you." He sneered at the two of us as he stood up his hands still guiding the ship.

It was something I tried not to think about. Although Steve was nearly one of the oldest people on Earth and was still in his prime, his life would still be significantly shorter than mine. It's the main reason that Father would disapprove and why he wanted me to marry an Asgardian. I didn't want to marry anyone else though.

I thought back to the day of Loki's trial, when Father had said that I could marry who I chose. Maybe I did have a chance with Steve, Loki didn't seem to think so.

"And will that satisfy you?" Thor boomed back to our brother who was clearly trying to get under our skin.

"Satisfaction is not in my nature."

"Surrender is not in mine."

Their bickering had not stopped since Loki was let out. It was like they were making up for all the time they would have spent making snarky comments at each other while Loki was in the dungeons.

"The children of Odin..." Loki smirked.

"No." Thor interrupted him as he stood up to meet Loki's level. "Not just of Odin. You think you alone were loved of Mother? You had her tricks, but I had her trust." Thor roared at him, anger seeping through his pores.

I felt a pang in my heart at the mention of my mother, the wound not yet healed.

"Trust? Was that her last expression? Trust? When you let her die?" Loki growled. I stood up as well, they were getting a little too close and now was really not the time for violence, if they could just wait to let their anger out on Malekith.

"What help were you in your cell?" Thor rumbled back as they properly squared up to each other.

"Who put me there? Who put me there?!" Loki thundered.

Thor lurched forward grabbing onto Loki's arms threateningly. "You know damn well! You know damn well who!" He pushed Loki down onto the metal holding his fist up, about to swing the other hand around his throat.

"Hey! Enough! Look at yourselves. Mother wouldn't want you to fight." I commanded at them hoping I wouldn't have to physically pull them apart because Thor was really heavy.
