After the devastation that followed the loss of Gamora, we hoarded on the ship after about 45 minutes of Quill just staring at her sword. It was a difficult task, but we managed to sit him in his chair.

He sat there for another hour before standing up forcefully and marching towards the music controls for the ship and started playing a song called 'New York Groove' before sitting back down and staring into space while the song played.

It wasn't my type of music, but I figured I had to put up with it while Quill coped with what had just happened.

The second time it played, I sighed in frustration, just trying to focus on what I could do to defeat Thanos.

The third time, I was ready to push Quill's head through a wall.

The fourth time was when the groans of annoyance started from Drax.

The fifth time, it wasn't so bad.

The sixth time, I actually started to like the song.

The seventh time, I even started bobbing my head along with the beat.

We then listened to the same song for the next four hours with Quill still staring determinedly out at the burning buildings.

I still looked a little less like Carrie at the prom.

I wiped away the fresh blood and tried to clean and stitch my own wounds with their first aid kit. If I was going to fight him again, I didn't want to look like he had harmed me.

The dripping blood was replaced with scars that looked like jewellery over my neck, wrists and ankles. Even without the blood, I would probably frighten my children with my appearance.

The more we waited for Quill to do something, the more I thought about how I could never have done that to Steve or have him do it to me, as it would have been too hard. I was nowhere near strong enough to live in a universe without him in it.

"I couldn't have done that." I muttered, looking at his side profile as I sat next to him, and he continued to stare ahead before he looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "With my guy. I couldn't have done that."

"What are you saying?" He asked, sneering a little as he must have thought I was mocking him in some way considering our relationship before.

"I'm saying... that I respect you." I admitted and he sat up in his chair more, not hiding his surprise.

"I, um, respect you too." He stammered as I offered him a genuine smile which he reluctantly returned. "That was insanely cool before he, you know." He remarked my powers and my smile faltered at little.

It may have looked 'cool', but Thanos made my powers seem like a magic trick as he defeated me once again.

Just as I was about to respond, the music was cut off and his expression hardened as he looked back into the rest of the ship.

"Turn it back on!" He yelled back, assuming that someone, probably Drax, had turned it off.

"No!" Drax snapped back from somewhere in the ship causing Quill to jump from his seat and locate the interruption of his 'groove'. I followed him because, as much as I didn't want to admit it, I also wanted the music back on.

"Turn it back on." Quill ordered as we reached Drax who was holding a device that must have controlled the music, like an iPod.

"You can't keep listening to the same song again and again and again!" Drax shouted at Quill as he tried to press buttons on the device.

"I told you. I'm screwed up man. I gotta get back in the groove. Specifically, the New York Groove. Give me my Zune." Quill whined as he marched over to where Drax was, trying to take the device off him.
