I said goodbye to your body,
Even though I wasn't by your side,
For I knew that your heart had stopped beating;

Nevertheless, the tears spring forth,
For a part of myself
Has been lost alongside your life.
What a time to perish...
What a time to be alive.
That time stands still tonight,
As I cry,
Though I know that your spirit stands
By my side.
