Liar.

I said goodbye,
And he replied quickly, softly -
"I love you."

I panicked, I saw
He was vulnerable.
"I love you too."

Now I am a liar;
I am wrong, so wrong,
But what now?

Now I am a liar,
But I don't want to hurt him
More than I'll have to.

I know that I'll
Find a way to tell him
That I am a liar,

I am not in love;
I am not sure that I
Shall ever want to be.

I will say goodbye
One more time,
Then I shall go.

Softly now,
I shall go,
A liar no more.
