There are things that I want,
Things that I need,
And things of which I dream.
Of the latter, I ponder,
Will those things come to me?
I dream of finding a soul
That complements mine,
One who will lay down beside me
Time after time;
Someone who I can care for
Who cares in return,
Somebody I can be there for,
Who stays when the tables are turned.
I seek not a pretty face,
But a beautiful heart:
One which loves me as I am.
I will not settle for less, not again.
I will dream of the time, of that place,
When we are no longer apart,
When I will return from work
And arrive at a home, not just a house,
To meet the one of which I dream.
