Sirius had woken Nanala up early with Remus's help. Remus had spelled the stairs so Sirius could get up the stairs and straight to the girl's dorm. He walked inside and went straight to her bed and shook her awake. While he was waking the girl, Remus grabbed a small bag and put an outfit in it, so the girl could sleep in the boys' dorm and have new clothes to change into once she woke up. He figured he'd let her borrow one of his shirts to sleep in, or James would, so he didn't have to pack her pajamas.
"What do you want?" Nanala asked, her voice heavy with sleep.
"It's your birthday! Happy birthday! I have you a gift, and you need to open it right now!" Sirius exclaimed, tossing a box on to her bed.
Nanala sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. In front of her was a black box with a crimson red bow tied around it. With a smile and a playful eyeroll, Nanala pulled the bow to untie it. She then grabbed the top of the box and opened it. Inside there was crimson red tissue paper, so she pulled out the paper to reveal a black dress. Pulling the dress from the box, a happy smile made it's way to her face at seeing how pretty the dress was.
"I figured you could wear it for your party. By the way, the party starts in two hours, so you better get ready. Peter and James are setting up downstairs," Sirius stated, as the girl kicked the blankets off her legs.
"I think we should go down there to make sure they're not messing anything up," Remus said to Sirius, before turning to his best friend,"Come down when you're ready. Everyone will be down there by the time you're ready," He commented, as he opened the door to the dorm to leave.
Once the boys were gone, Nanala looked around the dorm to see that all of the girls were already awake and gone from the dorm. She wondered if that was the boys' doing as well. With a quiet sigh, Nanala stood from her bed and went for a shower. As soon as she was done with her shower, she dried and curled her hair, before putting on a little bit of makeup. She then slipped on her dress and placed up some chunky heeled boots.
"Let's hope this isn't wild," She murmured to herself, before walking downstairs.
"Happy birthday!" Everyone shouted, as she entered the common room.
"We're doing presents now, but the real party doesn't start until later," Sirius commented, grinning mischievously.
Nanala was then directed to a seat, before Remus handed her a chocolate chip muffin. After eating her muffin, everyone began to pass her gifts. Lily and Lily's friends had even bought the girl gifts, which somewhat surprised her, since she believed Lily hated her after James started perusing her instead of Lily.
"Andy sent you a gift from her, Ted, and Dora," Sirius commented, as he set a gift with the pile.
"And Mum and Dad sent you some as well," James added, setting a couple boxes and bags down with the other gifts.
Nanala opened each gift with care, smiling as she examined each one. Peter had gotten the girl sweets, since the girl had quite the sweet tooth. Remus had gotten her a copy of The Tales of Bettle the Bard and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Sirius had gotten the girl a leather jacket, much like his own, as well as a couple new pairs of shoes. Lily had gotten the girl--with Remus's help-- a copy of Old Yeller and Dracula. Dorcas and Marlene had gotten the girl music albums, which consisted of Aerosmith, Journey, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and a new band by the name of Whitesnake. Nanala wasn't a big fan of Queen or The Beetles, but she could appreciate Boston.
Sadly, Nanala didn't recieve any gifts from her parents or her brother, but she didn't let that change her mood. Andy, Ted, and Dora had gotten the girl a new cassette player, along with Michael Jackson's debut album, and an album of the Jackson 5. James's parents got Nanala a couple of dresses, a new pair of boots and heels, a new perfume, and some makeup. When James's gift was last, he handed the box to Nanala with a smile on her face. Opening it, she grinned when she seen a couple of band tees, but when she pulled them out she gasped.
Under the shirts was a pair of diamond earrings with a matching diamond necklace. Setting the things down gently, Nanala stood from her seat and wrapped her arms around James. When Lily looked in the box and seen the jewelry, she had to hide the frown that tried to appear on her face. She wouldn't admit it, but she was honestly becoming jealous of the blonde in James's arms. She barely understood why, since she wasn't attracted to James, or she didn't think she was, but as the days went on, the jealousy was becoming more and more evident.
"Will you help me put on the necklace?" Nanala asked, and James nodded.
Grabbing the necklace, Nanala picked up her hair so James could clasp the necklace around her neck. As James was working on the necklace, Sirius walked over and slipped the earrings into the girl's ears. Once the jewelry was on, Nanala turned to James with a smile on her face.
"How do I look?" Nanala asked, causing James's smile to become wider.
"Absolutely amazing," He replied, kissing her sweetly.
There it was, the green eyed monster once again, but Lily was determined to make it disappear. She wasn't going to ruin their relationship, even if she was completely envious of it. She hated herself for wishing she was Nanala, and she was determined to make those feelings disappear...
