Chapter Sixteen

Nanala had gotten too big to work, according to everyone at the shop. She wanted to prove them wrong, but when she had braxton hicks contractions, everyone decided she wasn't going to be in a safe environment for her baby. Danielle started staying with Nanala for the rest of her pregnancy after the false labor, since everyone was worried she'd go into labor alone and she wouldn't be able to get to a hospital safely or in time.

"I can't believe that you're so big. Any day now your baby will be here, and I'll finally be an auntie," Danielle gushed, causing Nanala to laugh.

"You're not the one having to push a watermelon out of your vagina," Nanala retorted,"so you get to be all happy and excited for me to go into labor," She added, and Danielle nodded.

"Very true," Danielle answered, leaning down to the baby bump,"C'mon little dude, it's time to come out. Aunt Dani wants to see you already," She said, making Nanala roll her eyes.

"Don't give him any ideas," Nanala murmured, already feeling her baby kick her hand when she lightly rubbed her bump.

Danielle had went with Nanala to the doctor's appointment in which Nanala found out she was having a boy. Nanala was beyond excited, since she had always secretly wanted her first baby to be a boy. She didn't know if she'd ever want another baby, but even if she did, she still wanted her first born to be a boy. Her only problem was she was pregnant during the summer, which was way too hot in her opinion.

"I'm going to make chocolate chip muffins," Danielle stated, knowing those were Nanala's favorite.

Danielle had made Nanala chocolate chip muffins after she and the pregnant girl visited her mother, Stacey. Stacey had made the muffins first, and when she seen how much the pregnant girl loved the muffins, the woman sent the recipe home with Danielle so she could make them for Nanala. Stacey had practically become a mother to Nanala, and the pregnant girl cherished the woman for everything she did out of the goodness of her heart.

"I'm going to lay down, come get me when the muffins are ready," Nanala said, and Danielle nodded.

     Danielle helped Nanala walk to her room, before she turned the girl's air conditioner up so the girl wouldn't sweat while laying in bed.

"Are you feeling okay, Nala?" Danielle asked, and Nanala sighed.

"My body is hurting more today. I'm thinking the baby will be here sooner than later. I'm hoping if I lay down, my body won't hurt as bad," Nanala replied, causing the other girl to smile sympathetically.

"Well, I'll come check on you in a little bit," Danielle murmured, before closing the girl's bedroom door.

As the day grew nearer for her to give birth, Nanala was becoming more and more anxious. She was upset that Remus, Sirius, and James weren't going to be around for her, but she still held some resentment towards James for being with Lily. Yes, she understood that she had disappeared, but she couldn't believe that he had the audacity to get with Lily only a few months after she had disappeared. She was also a little disappointed that she knew James and Sirius had been informed about the baby from Remus, but James didn't seem as effected by it as Remus and Sirius were. Well, she was just going off the books, but the books were so accurate that she was almost certain every detail was more than correct.

The characters in the movie really didn't look much like her friends, but she understood that the movie people had to pick the actors closest to the description. The actors and actresses that played Lucius, Narcissa, Bellatrix, and Rudolphus were very close though, she did have to agree with that. She almost wanted to talk to the actors and actresses from the movies to see what they thought of their characters and their lives, but she knew that would be pushing limits that she didn't need to push; not in the muggle world, and not in a different universe.

"Nala, the muffins are done," Danielle said, walking into the girl's room.

"Can you help me up?" Nanala asked, wincing when pain flared in her back.

"Are you sure you should get up?" Danielle asked,"You're in pain, and I can always bring you a muffin," The girl added, but Nanala shook her head.

"I will get stiff if I don't move around," Nanala answered, and Danielle nodded.

The girl helped Nanala up out of the bed reluctantly, and she watched as Nanala stood up with a pained wince. Nanala placed her hand on her baby bump, feeling more pressure than she had when she had laid down.

"Let's just walk around, I'm probably sore from laying still for so long," Nanala commented, causing Danielle to frown.

Danielle watched Nanala walk out of her room slowly. She could tell the girl was in pain, but she also knew the girl was quite stubborn. Nanala walked out of her room and into the hallway, her hand running along the wall for guidance the entire time. When she came to the kitchen, she felt more pressure in her belly, causing her to clutch the counter top tightly.

"I think I know what's wrong," Nanala said, looking up at her friend.

"I'm starting to think I know, too," Danielle replied, biting her lip.

"I'm in labor," Nanala murmured, the idea causing a wave of anxiety to rush through her.

"Well, doc said it could be hours before you have the baby, so we should just stay here until your contractions are closer together," Danielle said, and Nanala nodded.

"Good idea, and while we wait, I'll eat. They'll never feed me while I'm in labor," Nanala replied, causing Danielle to laugh.

"Only you would be worried about food," Danielle commented, and Nanala giggled.

"Of course, you can't deprive a pregnant woman her food, especially when she's going through labor. It's torture if I'm honest," Nanala answered, causing her friend to laugh again. 

In only hours, Nanala would soon be holding her son...

A/N: I went back through the story and changed the year she came to this universe from 2012 to 2011, making her about nineteen when she meets the Avengers. Please go back and vote on who you want the love interest to be. Soon the voting will be over, so make sure your vote counts! Also, I forgot I wanted her son to be at least one before the Avengers showed up, but my dumbass didn't consider the years. *facepalm*
