Laura had approached Clint almost as soon as she knew Nanala was in the bath. When Clint seen Laura approaching, he stopped messing around with the kids. Lila went back to coloring, and Cooper went back to playing with his action figures.

"What's up? How's Nala?" Clint asked, giving the woman her full attention.

"She's in the bath right now," Laura answered, and Clint smiled,"I have something I want to talk to you about," She commented, causing Clint to nod.

Clint walked off with Laura into the hallway near their bedroom for some privacy. They knew their bedroom wasn't the best place, since they didn't want to bother Nanala while she relaxed in the bathtub.

"What's up?" Clint asked, staring down at his wife.

"I think Nanala should sit out on whatever the team has prepared next. It's best if she let's her body heal naturally instead of with her magic," Laura stated, causing Clint to frown.

"Laura, y'know I--" He began, but she cut him off.

"You don't understand, Clint. From everything you told me about her, and everything I read, it didn't prepare me for what I saw," Laura commented, making Clint's eyebrows furrow.

"What did you see?" He asked, and she sighed.

"Did you know that her family abused her?" Laura asked, and Clint shrugged.

"She told me a bit, but I figured she didn't tell me everything. Why?" Clint questioned, causing Laura to sigh.

"Her back is covered in scars, Clint. It looks like she was whipped. I mean, I knew they used a torture curse, but whips?! That's insane!" Laura exclaimed quietly,"I can tell she didn't let the marks heal properly. Clint, she needs proper rest and to let herself heal naturally for once. Obviously, you guys can get her when you need her, but she needs to be shown the care she didn't receive at home when she was hurt. Please, Clint, talk to the team. Get them to let her be for a while," Laura pleaded, causing Clint to sigh.

"Fine," He answered, running his hand over his face,"I'll talk to them," He said, biting his lip,"Please, let Nala know if she needs anything, I'm here for her. I don't care if we're in the middle of a mission, if she needs something, she can always come to me," He added, and his wife smiled.

"Of course," She murmured, kissing his cheek.

Clint walked away a minute later to talk to the team, as Laura headed to the bathroom to check on Nanala. She knocked lightly on the door, and she heard a soft reply for her to go in. When she opened the door, she was surprised to see Nanala sat on the toilet seat wrapped in a towel.

"I was able to slip on my knickers, but it hurt so much, I didn't want to try the pants," Nanala murmured, and Laura nodded.

Laura handed Nanala a shirt, and the girl quickly slipped it on. Laura then grabbed the shorts she had pulled out for Nanala. She helped the girl put on the shorts, making sure they fit right, before she grabbed a knee brace from under the sink.

"I hurt my knee years ago, and I was given this brace. I believe if you wear this brace for a couple of days, you should be healed enough to simply wrap your knee. When your knee is wrapped, it'll be easier for you to move it," Laura said, and Nanala nodded.

Laura helped Nanala slip on the knee brace, before she wrapped Nanala's arm over her shoulder and walked her to Lila's room.

"Lila said she'd share her bed with you. Her bed's pretty big," Laura commented, as she helped the young girl lay down.

Once Nanala was in bed and comfortable, Laura left the room to let the girl rest. She went downstairs and fixed the girl a sandwich and a bottle of water, before bringing it up to her.

"Eat, then you can take a nap. I think it's been long enough for your concussion to have eased up. You should be safe to sleep," Laura said, before leaving the girl on her own.

Nanala quickly ate the food, before she carefully turned on her side and got comfortable. In minutes Nanala was asleep, and she felt more relaxed than she had in a while.

When Clint didn't see Nanala for lunch, he looked over at his wife. Laura simply smiled at him, and motioned towards the stairs with her head.

"The kids really want to meet her," Laura commented, and Clint nodded.

"I know, but I can't make her meet them if she's not feeling well," Clint replied, causing Laura to smile.

"She's a sweet girl," Laura murmured,"You should bring her around more often. Maybe bring Henry as well. I know the kids would love to have Nanala and Henry around," She said, and Clint smiled,"I can see just how much you love her. In this small span of time, she's became a daughter to you, and I know I'll come to love her that way, too. I hope she feels the same way," Laura rambled for a moment, as she seemingly got lost in thought.

"I should go check on her, and see if she needs anything," Clint commented, and Laura simply nodded.

She didn't want to tell the man that she had already given the girl food, water, and had her lay down for rest. She knew Clint would find her, and he would let the girl rest without being bothered.

When Clint did find Nanala, a soft smile appeared on his lips. The girl was sleeping peacefully, the blanket pulled up over her shoulders. Yes, he could tell she was a bit uncomfortable because of her knee and her head, but she was still asleep. She was safe, and that's all he worried about. He didn't want any of his kids to be in pain, in danger, or have any problems if he had the ability to help it. He just hoped she wouldn't become more hurt in their fight against Ultron...
