Nanala had learned more about Loki and his attack on New York a couple of days after he had been captured. She had looked into his invasion and found out that he was after the tesseract, and he used the chitauri to try and take over. Obviously everything didn't work out in his favor, but his invasion scared Nanala. If anyone could invade Earth and try to take over, than that meant the world wasn't exactly safe. That also meant that there was aliens that wanted to invade and kill humans, like all those documentaries and shows Nanala watched on the television when Henry was napping.
A possibilty for an alien invasion scared Nanala. She believed before that she could keep Henry safe from all the danger in the world, but if there was aliens, there was a chance that aliens could resist her magic. If they could resist her magic, she wouldn't be able to defeat them and keep Henry safe. In moments like that, she hoped she'd know how to fight like a muggle. She wasn't exactly into muggle fighting, but if she was going to protect her son, she was going to learn whatever she had to learn.
"Nanala, you've got a letter from Stark Industries," Danielle announced, as she handed a rather thick letter to Nanala.
"Why?" Nanala asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Don't know; maybe they giving single mothers money after the whole New York thing," Danielle replied, and Nanala shrugged slightly.
Nanala pulled the letter out of the envelope and she was surprised to see that it had her last name on the paper as well. She hadn't expected Tony Stark to know her full name, but maybe he had a list of all the people in New York, especially the ones he believed needed money from him. Sighing, the girl glanced over the letter and started to read it.
'Dear Ms. Malfoy,
After the events that happened in New York, Mr. Stark has graciously given money to all of those effected by the damage caused during the battle. He knows money can not replace everything, but he hopes this will help. Since you were effected by the damage, and you are a single mother with a young child, Mr. Stark has given you a significantly higher amount of money than he would to someone without a child. Mr. Stark would appreciate it if you used the money, and he will not accept the money back. If you do not accept the money, he will continue to send a check until he knows you have used it.'
Nanala peeked into the envelope and seen a paper check inside with a rather large number printed on the front. She shook her head with a sigh, before placing the check on the counter top. She pulled a second letter from the envelope as well, which confused her, since she believed everyone only recieved one letter from Stark Industries; one that was very formal and informative. Opening the letter, she seen that it was written in ink, instead of typed out on a computer and printed.
'Dear Ms. Malfoy,
I know our last meeting was a little tense, but we did just finish defeating Loki and his army. The team and I wish to learn more about you and your son. We want to know about you, and see to what extent your powers can go. If you would, come to Stark Tower June 16th at nine for a meeting.
You don't need to dress up for the meeting, but I do need you to bring your wand, your broom, and anything else you're holding for your witchy magic. Also, make sure to bring your son, we want to see how much he can do as well. We will be providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner; if the meeting lasts all day. If you or your son are allergic to anything, send Ms. Potts an email, and she will sort everything out.
P.s. Director Fury has told me to let you know that if you try to skip out on the meeting, he will send agents down to your apartment to get you. He also said, if he has to send someone, you will be put in a cell to be questioned.
Don't be late,
Tony'Nanala sighed quietly, knowing she couldn't get out of the meeting. As long as she went and told them whatever truths she could, she knew she should be able to get away from them. Technically, she could erase their memories, but she figured they probably already wrote down what they knew about her, and most likely already had an entire folder set up for her just waiting for more information to be added to it.
She was mad at whoever Director Fury was, since he had threatened her and her son. If he tried to threaten her to her face, she would hex him into oblivion, even if that meant she was put in a cell. He did not have any right to say such rude things to her, and he definitely did not have any right to threaten her or her son. The man was just lucky that Nanala knew where Stark Tower was, otherwise she'd skip on the meeting and blame it on her lack of directions.
"You should cash the check soon, otherwise he might cancel it," Danielle commented, since she hadn't read the paper about the check.
"No, if I don't use it, he'll keep sending them until I finally do. I have a feeling if I wait too long, he'll send someone to make me use the money," Nanala replied completely serious, but Danielle simply laughed.
"Tony Stark is way too busy to worry about who spends his money," Danielle said, and Nanala just shrugged.
She knew Tony Stark was busy, but that didn't seem to matter to him. When he wanted something, it seemed he would get it no matter the cost. She just hoped that wouldn't screw her up in the future...
