27. Nandini Wants To See You, Alpha.

Manik's POV

"I don't know if I could make it upto her for the trouble I caused her. But I vow to never bother her again. Rest assured, mom, I will never ever cross her path for any intention unless it is necessary."

It was more of a commitment that I made to myself. I enjoy ultimate satisfaction while I share this that I kept up with my determination and didn't run into Nandini for over two weeks now.

That day is a history. The embarrassing event I experienced in that ward of hospital is a fading out memory now. I had been focused on my work as an alpha ever since.

Just as how I promised, I never bothered Nandini ever since. I never saw her face after that evening. Mom expressed her deepest regrets for going out of her emotional limits at that moment and sayings things that have turned me rigid nowadays but I couldn't accept it. It hurt to see my mom defending someone else. She shoved things I could hardly wonder coming from her.

I get that it was the outcome of her sentimental composure. I deserved that too. However, it is something that makes me feel void inside. Void because I made her suffer.

Nandini's thoughts affect my work at times. But I could shove them away and focus all over again.

"Nathan, prepare my car. Don't forget to place my sword and some weapons in there. It is time I take care of the rogues contaminating our pack in the north." I communicated over the mind link to my beta as I dried my hair of water.

Nathan has now shifted in the mansion. He used to live in the quarters provided to our warrior. I require him so many times and it is difficult to have him travel all the way from there to the mansion. He was hesitant in the beginning but later on he agreed to shift here.

Choosing a dark blue shirt with a black jeans, I finger combed my hair. My body aches a lot. I have been working endlessly since that evening to occupy myself. My wolf whimpers a lot too. I need a good fuck, and I shall have it tonight. I didn't get laid since I returned from the trip.

I miss the academy in this case. Because there was no shortage of girls. There were plenty to choose from and some of them offered themselves without me asking them. But ever since I shifted here I scarcely got a moment to myself.

I was perfuming my torso with my favorite fragrance when Nathan walked into my bedroom.

"Your car is ready and the weapons have been arranged as well." He said.

"Thanks, Nathan."

"Alpha, I want you to take myself with you. The north is corrupted with foes who refused to be our allies. It will not be a good idea to go alone." He spoke in a serious note I laughed at.

"I wasn't going alone either, Nath. You are my shadow and cannot survive a day without you in this pack at all." We smiled. "You are definitely coming with me."

I went back to perfuming myself. Much to my curiosity Nathan kept rooted to his spot. It is unusual to see him scrutinize me like that after our conversation has finished. Unless there is more that needs to be said he never stays back.

"Is there anything else you want to say, Nathan?" His eyes glowed thankfully.

"Yes alpha," I watched him through the mirror as he tug at his collar nervously.

His face was red. I was amused at the sight of creases on his forehead. Nathan is a confident wolf thus it makes me wonder what is making him look so grisly.

"Erm alpha, Nandini wishes to see you. She is waiting outside your room." My shoulders froze, my curious eyes flared to the closed door of my room as I imaged her standing outside.

Now I infer why the air smelled so refreshing. It is because the air aeries her fragrance.

"This time she's claimed she won't budge unless you speak with her." Nathan added.

I smacked my lips trying not to make it obvious to Nathan that I was affected by her presence. He's noticed my sexual tension rise at the mention of her name. I put a straight face and resumed perfuming my body.

"Beta Nathan, It is my order that you find out the reasons why she wants to see me. I'm not going to waste my time on her if they're not important." Nathan moved away with a polite nod while I tried not to let her fragrance distract me.

She's come to see me several times in these two weeks. I just couldn't muster the courage to go in front of her. Hence, I make excuses and avoid seeing her.
