123. Back in Full Moon Pack again

Manik's POV

I didn't expect Nandini to agree with me so obediently. She was only mad when I dropped my decision on her. But when the morning crept in and I visited her in Mahir's ward, she didn't throw any tantrums. All that she asked from me was to give her some time so she could meet everyone before we left.

I was afraid she might disappear again so I refused. Although I was pretending to be cold to her, my true intention was to make her bend as per my will. There's no way I'm letting her slip out of my captivity again.

My heart still thumps as I think back about her jump down the cliff. It was real. She did fall down. I saw it with my own eyes.

Now as I regarded Nandini patting Mahir's back as she stared out of the window of the plane, I was forced to marvel how she did that. The telekinesis and faking her death. She couldn't do it alone. There has to be someone with enormous powers that assisted her.

I would dig down the earth if that's what it takes to get my doubts cleared. But there's no way in seven heavens that I am letting Nandini get away from me. She punished me enough with her staged death. Now it's time that I punish her for ruining five years of our lives that we could have lived together happily while raising Mahir together as a happily married couple.

She didn't give me a chance to explain myself last time. This time, though, I will show her the truth and make her realize how much she hurt me. I will clear up her misunderstandings… But I will not forgive her easily.

Seeing her hold Mahir close to her chest made me want to become a part of that serene moment. Hence, I left my seat and sat next to her. She immediately became rigid and shifted away.

"Why are you sitting here? Go back to your seat." She eyed me.

I turned a blind eye to her seething frustration and shrugged, "I want to hold my son too."

"You can't do it now, Alpha Manik. Mahir is sleeping and I don't think you can hold him now. He's injured."

"Let me see if he's really injured any more." She didn't let go of Mahir until she sensed my elbow against her chest.

As if my hand was a frayed wire and an electrical shockwave flowed through her, she flinched back. Her hands around Mahir loosened and I took him in my arms. Nandini uncomfortably moved farther away, gluing herself with the window as she made an attempt to put space between us.

It annoyed me. I was the same old Manik she loved. When we were together she always wanted me to touch her naked body. Seeing the discomfort on her face at the mere contact of my hand made fury burn within me. I wanted to snap at her for her behavior when Mahir turned and twisted in sleep.

He made little noises kids make when they move before his little hands wrapped around my neck. He heaved loudly against my chest and went back to sleeping soundly.

I was hoping to check his front for the injury and how far has it healed after he got the healing potion. But now I clasped him to my chest and inhaled his scent. The feeling of holding my own flesh filled me with solace.

"I wonder if your affection will still be the same while holding your bastard when your mate's kids come running at you." My stomach dropped over her remark.

Raghav was with us in the plane. He froze as bewilderment overtook him. His eyes wandered between her and me until they paused on my face completely.

I heard him on the mind link as he said, 'So that was the reason why she faked her death? Oh goddess! She misunderstood you, Manik. Why didn't you address her uncertainty yet?'
