60. We're brothers now
Manik's Pov
"The head of Bratva, really?" I tried to keep disdain from my tone.
"Just amazed or scared, Manik?" I chuckled and locked eyes with the head of the Bratva, sitting across from me in my house.
"Impressed would be the correct word here." I replied and tossed a grape in my mouth.
The head of the elder in the box turned my knees to mush, but I was sober enough to ask my dad to arrange a meeting with whoever he said was able to help me now. When dad mentioned I needed help from Mafia clans, I didn't think he meant the leader of the Russian Mafia.
I don't have to sing songs of their strength. It is the biggest and one of the baddest mafia organizations in the world, and runs some of the dangerous money-multiplying businesses throughout the world.
"When we met five months ago when I was in the training academy and you offered me a proposal of merger, I didn't think you really meant it." I smiled again.
Rogue Cordiero, the Russian mafia king threw his head back to laugh loudly. He was dressed in a black three piece suit as that day while his hair was gelled neatly, giving off a nice philanthropist businessman's vibe. He was sitting on the opposite couch, a leg crossed over the other, as he took a sip of wine the servants brought for us.
"I always look out for powerful individuals like you, Malhotra. The more clever we are together, the more powerful we become." His accent was pleasing to the ears.
I met him during a training course held in Washington with other fellow mates. It turned out it was his property, and one of his many businesses aka training academy where I was taken to and the training master was his fellow bodyguard.
Rogue Cordiero is a wolf by nature. He killed the old Bratva psycho and mounted on the chair of the boss at the age of fifteen.
The old boss was a tyrant. He would have taken Bratva to hell if Rogue didn't take him down. He had his own reasons but the Russian players kissed the ground before him.
The organization was glad and everyone happily became loyal in his hands. Since then Rogue has been looking after Bratva while he's personally settled down in Washington.
He is the God of the city, and is friends with other Gods like himself coming from other crime syndicates. That's what I remember he had told me during our first meeting.
Another thing about him is that his father is the alpha of Blood Guardians Pack in Washington where he lives with his family. He wants Rogue to take over, but the man has his hands packed up with too many businesses and startups to worry about a pack.
I like the way Rogue is straight forward. He discusses business without going around the topic to please others. If he wants it, he offers a deal for it. There's nothing like convincing the other party.
I was amazed he was sitting here in front of me after I declined his offer earlier. When we shook hands last time in Washington, I never assumed I'd seen him again for my answer was rough and full of arrogance. I made an aggravating command on what it would feel like if I were to join the mafia. But I guess I might be of great significance if he really wants me in his clan as an ally.
But still it won't hurt if he verbalizes what makes him want me, "My need for you and your clan is right in front of you, Rogue. I want to know what makes you want me?"
