Nandini's POV

The whole night I stayed in the bed and cried to myself, hoping for God to see my condition and grant me some relief.

When Alpha Manav rescued me and brung me to his mansion in his private plane, I had become awfully joyful. I thought my hardship ended there. I was simply wrong because that was just a trial I lived before finally jumping into the ring of death— the ultimate hardship.

Alpha Manik was the umpire who decided my life. And from no angle he seemed to show any mercy.

"You will go to the woods and learn medicines, Nandini." I was standing across him in his study room.

Soon after my quick breakfast a servant was sent to summon me in his study room. The wanted to see me. My heart had started banging in my chest as I began my stride to his study that was in the same corridor as his room in his region.

As I entered inside, obviously after politely knocking, he looked up and scanned me. I think I saw him staring at my chest for a small while before he slit his gaze away to something else behind me. The wall may be.

"My father told me medicines was your major and you are a quick learner. We don't have many doctors in the mansion except for Raghav and his three assistants. We need more good doctors who can come to the aid of me and my pack in the time of need. Hence, I want you to go to the woods and study environment and the herbs and plants that we have been relying on for years for treatment. You will leave here in an hour with Raghav and his assistants."

My silence was my agreement as I observed him type effortlessly on the keyboard. He was lost in his work as though he had been an alpha for years. Just looking at him I was amazed as to how smoothly he was doing what I have seen Alpha Manav do. It was hard to claim that he had recently taken up the job. Seemed like he was born for this.

"Grab your necessities and be ready. Raghav will inform you when they leave." I nodded and exited his study.

Having come to my room I sat on the bed with a whimper. "Why does he have to be so harsh on me? The stab was not injurious, was it? He is absolutely fine and his wound has healed. But he won't let it slip or spare me. I don't know what exactly does he want from me. My life? May be that is why he is sending me on a trip doctor Raghav has termed as dangerous. When he as a wolf can deem it dangerous then I am a human. It is a hell I am being pushed into." I crossed my arms across my chest.

"But there is no way I can avoid it. Alpha Manav and Luna Arti are not around. I have not seen him since I discharged. There is no one to help me." Raising my head, I sighed and got up to change into something that would be comfortable in woods.

I picked a comfortable pair of sports pants and a white top. Thanks to Luna that she bought me all kinds of clothes. She must have seen this coming for me. I wish she was here to help me but alas, I have to do it.

"Okay Nandini, let's do this." I was standing across the mirror. "You are not a normal human being now. You are a member of a wolf clan and your alpha is a devil. He would love to feed on your blood if you give him a chance— Which you should not. So get up and show him what you are made of. You have learned the basics in the medical room... Now it's time to learn in the field full of danger. You can do it."

With that I left my room. I was occupied with my thoughts as I
strode through the corridor.

"Ouch!" My head spun. I have developed a bad habit of colliding with objects.

"Old habits are hard to get rid of, aren't they?" involuntarily my fingers froze.

Alpha Manik frowned angrily as he folded his hands against his chest. Once again it was his freaking torso like a hard iron wall that I ran into. Not any object.

I chewed the inside of my cheek. Meeting him before I left was the last thing I wished to happen. Well, here I was facing him with embarrassment painting my cheeks crimson.

He must think of me weak and unfit to survive. I always end up clumsily in front of him. Huh.

"I... I am sorry, A-alpha, I was..."

"Oh I know, you were not looking straight. In fact your head was clouded with the hunt you have to go on and blah blah blah. I know you are stressed out." Mockery spilled from each word he threw at me like a canon ball.

This time I was really embarrassed. I don't know what wrong with me. Why do I end up acting so lame around him. He is an alpha— the strongest of his kind. And here, I behave as a typical worthless human who is worse and lower than an omega of his pack.

I can't prove myself due to this naivety. This will only give him more chances to bully me.

"I am extremely sorry, Alpha. I was.. Ermm, I will take your leave." I was going to say something and said something else for doctor Raghav's figure caught my heed.

He was ready to leave. He found ne with the alpha and smiled, "Good to see Manik," he approached us.

He stared at me and patted my shoulder, "There you look super ready, my girl. But let me remind you it is a treacherous pursuit. You really want to come or I convince the alpha to—"

"I am ready, doctor Raghav." I shouted my answer out before he finished his words.

The Alpha's eyes was wandering all over my face. I was not looking at him but his smirk was imaginable. He was astounded with my answer. So am I.

This might be a gravely risky hunt but I will do fine. I have to if I want to survive.

"I will do it, sir. I have been waiting for this moment." I inhaled a deep breath and fisted my fingers on the side. "I want to learn everything a Medic in your world knows or does. Without those outdoor training I will not learn. So please," I turned my head to give the alpha a challenging glance. "Allow me to come with you."

"If that's what you want... This way." Doctor Raghav stretched his hands in the front as I flared hair almost in the Alpha's face and started my march to the exit.

We settled in a RAV4 manufactured by Toyota. A red beast, glowing like thick blood under the bright sun.

"Best of luck," the alpha said.

I clenched my teeth and tried not to let my heart bang in my chest at the sound of his voice. Because the way he said it, it felt as if he was sending me luck since I was going to be exposed to deadly danger.

I kept looking at my fisted hands in my lap intending to avoid his gaze. However, he walked to the car and placed his hands on the rim of my window and leaned forward to talk to Raghav who was in the driver's seat and I next to him.

"Take care of everyone, buddy. Even the over-confident ones should not be hurt." He said. He calls doctor Raghav buddy.

Instantly my head flew up and I scowled. His mocking eyes bore into mine and a rush of exasperation erected my spine.

"Rest assured, I will return with everyone unharmed." Raghav said and ignited the engine.

The alpha stepped aside and our vehicle commenced its ride. I noticed The Alpha waving through the rear view and looked out of the window totally fed up already.

'He's too proud and egoistic and I hate him.' I hissed.

He has underestimated me. But after this hunt, he will respect me for my hardwork. Alpha Manik, be prepared to bow your head in front of me. Because your brains are going to be bursted soon.
