113. Manik meeting Mahir

Manik's POV

"Come on, let's get going. We need to find your uncle's house too." I shook my head and started to move.

Rogue hung there, watching the boy and how he gently cared for the ducklings. He talked to them as if they were his friends and they could understand what he was saying.

"Rogue!"

"He's really cute." He was tempted by the kid and his cuteness so much that he couldn't bring himself to move.

"What's your name, boy? Do you live around here?" I folded my hands across my chest and observed my friend as he attempted to make the boy talk.

He was enjoying assisting the ducklings. Rogue tried again and this time the little boy huffed and put his hands on his waist, giving him a skeptical stare.

"I told you I don't talk to strangers! Why are you irritating me? Is that because you want to kidnap me? Drop the idea because it's not happening. I am not a normal kid as you probably think I am."

My lower jaw went slack in a moment of disbelief. I batted my lashes slowly and shook my head. The kid was really something else. He was not like normal kids I have seen in my life.

I gave him a once over again and closed my mouth. He was smaller than my own daughter. But that mouth on him and that attitude! God. It was... Staggering.

"You think you are a kid with superpowers. Like the real life boss baby? I find you cute instead." Rogue ruffled his hair.

The boy moved back and made faces, "Don't call me cute. Only my mom can call me cute."

Craning his neck up, Rogue laughed in my direction and said, "Now I seriously want to become his father and make more such babies with his mom."

I couldn't stop the smile coming to my face. Rogue is a complicated man with a mind that works weirdly. The boy ought to have something special in him if it's making him say that. Otherwise he never talks about having kids or a wife.

"Let's leave, Bruce Wayne! I am tired and I want to make this meeting fast and go back home to my daughter." I stated, walking towards him.

"Run away if you don't want me to steal you and take you away with me. I can really be a kidnapper for you." He said and got up.

Before he moved around, the boy's face twisted with a challenging expression, "How dare you talk about making more babies with my mom, asshole?"

"What!?" Rogue was left wide-eyed.

I squeezed my eyes and shook my head again. What exactly was this kid? Because his behavior was otherworldly. Like he really was a child with special powers and he didn't care a damn what elders would do to him.

He stomped his little foot on Rogue's and gritted, "You have no idea who you are trying to mess with, scumbag. Turn your ass around and leave."

"Rogue," I was next to him in an instant because he grabbed the boy by his waist and stared darkly in his face.

Planting a small kiss on his forehead, Rogue combed his hair with his fingers.

"I really like you, kiddo. I could really do with a fearless boy like you. How about you come with me." I thought Rogue would hurt him but he was playing with him like he was his own spoiled brat.

The boy shook with overwhelming fear. He was finally acting like a normal kid of his age around the Bratva Boss. He breathed loudly and tears were about to form in his eyes when Rogue let him go.
