despite all that, we should celebrate

We might mess up, act like the worst monsters sometimes

but

It's truly impressive how far we've come.

Technology and medicine,

though the latter is still a business that milks its source of the last penny, despite all that

it's truly impressive how far we've come.

In this crazy world to which we add our own shit and make it even crazier, it's ridiculous - yet despite all that

we're not extinct yet, we're growing.

And despite the fact that we've grown way too much in the wrong direction,

melting ice poles, perturbing nature, and overbreeding with no shame,

we still somehow have grass to touch and fields to cultivate.

That is impressive, truly, indeed.

But jokes aside: We might be a swamp, stinky and dark and full of nasty bugs, but flowers do grow here and there.

It's truly impressive how far we've come (if not for those flowers tho...).

We still have shitload to improve. Shitload of weak points and problems and distorted views

and even though we're the very ones that undermine our own well-being, fucking up our very nature with sick standards, norms, and beliefs,

even though we've made the normal abnormal and the abnormal normal

- a lot of it in the past century -

even though we're full of hate from wounds, misconceptions, and true stupidity,

DESPITE ALL THAT

we've come so far

(partly, out of our own bullshit).

And that's impressive.

It is impressive to come that far with that amount of shit sabotaging us on every step.

For as much as humans are the known universe's worst piece of trash,

they are also its greatest glory (though Uranus is prettier).

We focus so much on the former

in others, in ourselves.

Here is to the glory in our evolution

and to hope for better future still

as with all that praise said

there's still shitload to improve.
