What is meditation?

Meditation is calm alertness.

Calm awareness.


The hypnosis of our daily life swallows all of our attention.

Meditation is like standing up, walking out, taking a breath in the cool outside air,

and observing the hustle.

Just observing.

Calmly.

Just observing

ourselves observing.


Just observing.

Just calm awareness.



What does it feel like?

I can only say for myself:

it feels like nothing. In the best way possible.

And afterwards

it feels refreshing. Relieving.

Like slow, deep breaths outside on a winter night

when everything becomes calm,

the mind slows down,

the heart cools down

and all I know is that

i am being.


It's just that simple.

But how many simple things are easy?

Sometimes it comes like breathing.

Sometimes I don't know.


I can become aware that i don't know,

just observe what it's like to not know

- what it feels like, what it thinks like -

not like a detective or a judge but like the air: just watch. Don't think.

Just watch.

Co jakiś czas wracam do medytacji, i za każdym razem zadaję sobie pytanie, czemu nie robię tego częściej. To takie miłe. Zwłaszcza przed snem.
